Knowing that you are confused about the custom of giving gifts in China, I’d like to share with some suggestions here.
To begin with, the meaning of the gifts lie in value rather than price. Giving that, you’d better found out the preference of your hosts. When comes to the color of wrapping paper, black or white may not be advisable, both of them are considered to be unlucky in China. Beside, it’s bad manner to pick a clock or a pair of shoes for your hosts. Finally, what makes the gifts specially is the bond between the sender and the recipient. The gifts to the hosts should not be cost.

On May 8th, students in No.2 middle school did plenty of interested things to celebrate Mother’s Day. At the beginning of the activity, they organize a competition in which the one who made most meaningful gifts would win.
Apart from it, students wrote letters to express thank to their parents, but someone is too shy to do so. When hear “I love you”, parents looked at their children mildly. They are deep moved, most of them were with tears in their eyes.

Chinese brush calligraphy is one of the most important art form in China.

I think teenagers in China should have a specially festival that I would call Teenager Volunteer Day. As it is known to all, most teenagers in China are brought up as an only child in the family. They usually given too many care and attention. Through volunteering, teenagers may learn to think of others and many other important life lesson. In Teenager Volunteer Day, teenagers are encouraged to volunteer wherever you are needed. They may help to raise money for people which suffer from a serious disease, go to a home for the aged to do what is good for old people, or collecting books for children in poor areas.
