I like the Spring Festival, during that I usually enjoy myself greatly. All the family member often get together to have a big dinner. We also visit our relatives or friends. Several days ago when I went shopping in New York I saw an old woman crossed the street with a heavy bag in her hand. At that moment，the American boy was standing nearby. I thought the boy will help the old lady，and to my surprise，he did nothing. This seemed very strangely to me.
Later my roommate explained the boy's behaviors to me. Americans place emphasis to independence. If the boy had offered to help her，the old woman would have felt that she had considered old and weak. The Spring Festival, also knowing as the Chinese New Year, is a tradition festival in China. The Spring Festival usually falls in late January or early February. People celebrate them in different ways.
I always come back to home to celebrate the festival with my family. On the eve of the Spring Festival, all the family members will get together or have a big dinner. Then, while watching the Spring Festival Gala, we will play games and talk about which has happened recently until midnight.
On first day of the New Year, people usual wear new clothes and visit their relatives. They said “Happy New Year!” to each other, which is a good way to express their best wish for the coming year.
