The spring festival is the more important holiday for the Chinese people. There are many traditional activity to celebrate the festival, such as to do a thorough cleaning to having a new look for the new year, to paste handwritten couplets(对联) on front doors to bring a good luck. On some areas, people conduct Yangge dance and lion dance to increase the festival atmosphere. Also, people prepared a variety of foods treat the family, friends and relatives. The festival lasts for 15 days. It’s usually the biggest family gathering for most families, but everyone is supposing to go home to join the celebration. Train and airplane tickets are very difficulty to get before the festival.

It is no wonder Chinese festivals are more and more popular between foreign friends. I was really proud that.

On May 8th, students in No.2 middle school did plenty of interested things to celebrate Mother’s Day. At the beginning of the activity, they organize a competition in which the one who made most meaningful gifts would win.
Apart from it, students wrote letters to express thank to their parents, but someone is too shy to do so. When hear “I love you”, parents looked at their children mildly. They are deep moved, most of them were with tears in their eyes.

In the Dragon Boat Festival (龙舟节) this year, I invited Mr Smith, my foreign teacher, to my home to spent the festival together. My mother cooked delicious food for us. He even showed Mr Smith what to make zongzi. After dinner, I led him the river to see the dragon boat race. The banks of the river were full of people but a total of 12 dragon boat teams took part. As the game began, so the team members paddled (划桨) quickly. The race was excited.
I explained that the race is in memory of the famous poet Qu Yuan, that threw himself into the river and killing himself. People then paddled hardly in the hope of saving him.

Last Thursday, I invited Alan to my house to spend the Mid-Autumn Festival. While we were wait for a big lunch, both Alan and I felt hungry. After having the big lunch, we felt full of energetic. Recently, a famous basketball player has caused public angry by writing on tho Great Wall. In fact, this happens in many place of interest. I had some suggestions to solve this problem.
First, make more posters to inform the public the damage of graffiti (涂鸦). Besides, punishments, such as a fine, is necessary to tourists with so bad behavior. Also, I think it's helpfully to put up some boards along the tourist attractions that tourists can leave messages.

Chinese brush calligraphy is one of the most important art form in China.

Learning that you want to know how we spent the holiday in this special period, so I am writing to share the experience with you.
It is a coincidence that our National Day and the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival fell in the same day this year. Thanks to the unselfish devotion of all the medical staff which managed to bring the virus under control in our country, we could enjoy a long holiday than ever. Some people visited places of interests by means of private cars or public transportation, with masks on in crowded places, while some choose to stay at home, watching films or reading books. As for myself, I had a reunion with my family and enjoyed delicious mooncakes. Beside, we also watched some wonderful TV programs to celebrate the birthday of our motherland, all amazing at the great changes in our country.

The winter holiday I am looking forward to is drawing near. I feel more than happier because I will have more time to make good use. With so many things to do, I had already made a plan. First of all, I will go to visit my grandparents. It was them who brought me up. Not having seen them for near six months, I missed them very much.
