In the countryside of Jiangxi Province, Mount Lushan was once one of the famous cultural centers of ancient China. In fact, its historical importance meant that it     1     (honor) as a World Heritage Site in 1996.

Dahanyang Peak is the highest peak of Mount Lushan,         3     (rise) 1, 474 metres above sea level. However, Mount Lushan didn’t become truly famous     7     the Song Dynasty when it was rebuilt by Zhu Xi, the founder of Neo-Confucianism(理学). Thanks to his efforts, this place became one of the Four Great Academies of China. By the 19th century, it had become into an     8     (extreme) large place, with its own temples, study halls, and libraries. Overtime, countless writers and artists    9     (sing) praises for the mountain, leaving over 900 works of art.

Gulangyu, which is also called “piano island” or “museum of global architectures”, is an island off the coast of Xiamen, southeast China’s Fujian Province. The little island     1    (think) of as a name card of Xiamen City and of Fujian Province as a whole.

In 1986, the Xiamen government decided to repair the mansion. After that, Bagua Mansion became the only museum of pipe organs (管风琴), a kind of traditional instrument (乐器) in China    8     the largest of that kind in the world. The mansion, along     9    52 other historical sites, forms a whole part of Gulangyu’s multicultural heritage,     10    (make) it a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017.

4 . Qibao Ancient Village

Qibao, located in the center of Minhang District, Shanghai, is a village with a history of one thousand years. In the village, wine and tea are served on old-fashioned square tables together with long benches, long-mouth copper pots and flat-end chopstick used. The most famous snacks in old Shanghai are square pastry, rice wine and steamed salted pork in wine.
