Last week my parents and I took a two-day trip to Emei Mountain in Sichuan. Like everyone knows, it's famous mountain with all kinds of plants and animals. The weather was fine. It was about noon we arrived at the foot of the mountain. The three of them were very excited. As we climbed the mountain, we fed monkeys, visiting temples and told stories. On the way up I was busy taking picture since the scenery was so beautiful. The time passes quickly. Evening came down. We spent the night in a hotel at the top of the mountain. The food was expensive and the service was good. I was so tired that I fell asleep at the moment my head touched the pillow.
It is interested to visit another country, but sometimes there are some questions when we don’t know the language very well. It may be difficult to talk about the people there. We may not know how to use the telephone in the country which are visiting. We may not know what to buy the things we need. In a strange country we may not know where to eat and what to order in a restaurant. It is not easy to decide how many money to tip (付小费) waiters or taxi drivers. When we are helpful,we may not know how to ask help. After a short time later, however, we learn what to do and what to say. We learn to enjoy life in another country, and then we may be sorry to leave both the place and the people.
Last weekend, I went to visit my uncle, which lives in Qingdao, with my parents. They took the train and got there on Friday afternoon. It was comfortable train ride and we enjoyed the wonderful view along the railway. On Saturday, it rains a lot, so we had to stay at home. While the adults were chatting, I played card with my cousins. Unluckily, it was sunny on Sunday. We went to the beach together but played in the water. The beautiful sea and fresh air made us very happily and relaxed.
How a wonderful experience! I hope for to be close to the sea again.
This year I had the chance to do a lot of travelling around Europe. It is wonderful to be able to go to different countries, listening to different languages and try local food. I’ve personally noticed how differently I am since I started exploring more. Travelling has made you much more confident or independent. Travelling also helps me develop my organization skills! It is important to figure out why to get to different tourist places and plan to my time wisely. On the other hand, it is nice to learn to relax. On top of that,it was a great way to meet new people from all over world. I have met so much strange and wonderful people this way. What’s more, I have made friend with many of them.
Dear Jenny,
How was everything going?I,together with my parents plans to take a trip to Canada for a week during the summer vacation. We hope to make the full use of this opportunity to experience the naturally beauty of Canada and learn more about its culture. We don’t want to go to places where are full of tourists and shoppers. Because I am writing to ask help. We hope you can tell them where to visit. Besides, can you give us some advices on how to finding hotels which are not expensive but comfortable? I would be grateful if you could give me an early reply.
Yours,
Li Hua
I, together with my father, went to Zhangjiajie this summer vacation, where they paid a visit to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. In 1982, it listed as the first national forest park of China, that covers an area of 48. 1 square kilometers. Zhangjiajie, lie in the northwest of Hunan Province, is one of the most important tourism city. What’s more, it was recognized for China’s excellent tourism city in 2000. We were deep impressed by the natural scenery there. Therefore, we had kept on taking photos. In my opinion, a journey was worthwhile, because we were tired.
I took our foreign teacher Mr. Brown, he came to China for the first time, to the Great Wall last weekend. Having told about the history of the Great Wall, he was amazing at this world wonder. He was fascinated by the beauty of the Great Wall, so I took photos of himself, which would be a good memory for him. At the top, there was an activity about environmentally protection. Mr. Brown was so interested in protect the environment that he was eager to join in them. Both the Great Wall or the warm-hearted Chinese people deeply impress him. He decided to visit more place of interest when free.
I am from Detroit in the United States. During his senior year in high school I win a scholarship to study singing in London. I went there in summer, and I stayed at someone’s home. People here were very sweet, and it was a real fun summer. I got the inside view of how it’s like to live there. I loved it but one thing that surprised me was that people had to go to such many different stores to do shopping. There was also a lot of differences in language. They said things like “ring you up” instead of “give you a call”. Although it took me a little while to figuring out these differences, but it was rewarding.
My pen pal Jack from the USA comes to visit me last week. It was first time that he had been to China and he enjoyed his stay here. I took him to a teahouse near my home, which we had a good taste of Chinese tea and learned something about tea culture. Amazing at different shapes of teapots and teacups, he took some photo of them. Then a young lady came to serve for us. She showed us how to make tea but encouraged us to give it a try. Following his instruction, we found that making good tea was much more than pour hot water onto the tea. Jack as well as I were happy that we had a good time there.
