I guess everyone would like to set off for a journey with someone we can understand and have fun with. Travelling with a companion(同伴) is great!
It’s good to have someone with you who can watch your backpack when you want to use the toilet, find the way back home when you get lost, carry some of your luggage when you’re tired, take some photos of you when you want and help you in all kinds of situations. The feeling of having someone by your side makes you feel less stressful about many things.
With a companion you can together share the beautiful moments during the travels, experience the same things in a different way and support each other. It’s much more interesting and exciting when you have the chance to share something with someone while on your road. Meanwhile, there is always someone whom you can shout at when you are angry, or a shoulder on which you can cry when you miss your home.
A companion can share the costs with you. You can stay in one room, buy a dinner, have it together and share the bill, etc. It’s good to travel with someone who has the same or similar pattern of payment as you so you can support each other without having any arguments.
Having a companion by your side when travelling means less loneliness. You don’t think about it unless you get left in the middle of nowhere, far away from your friends and family. Then you wish to have someone with you.
In short, travelling with someone is the best choice for people who are short of travel experience. We might sometimes feel like being on our own and enjoy the sights with nobody behind our back but at the end of the day you have much more fun when being with someone, especially for a long run.

Adventures Through the Gorge
We put the raft in the calm,cold water.I looked down.The water was like a mirror.It was a foggy morning,so I could barely make out what was down the river.When we took our places in the raft,I was in the back with my dad right across from me.Our tour guide was telling us the basics of rafting,and it seemed she was patronizing us!I was terrified.Since I was in the back,I was sure I would be the one to fall out.But I have always been an optimist,so I thought it would turn out okay.
Then I looked up and saw a big,gray cloud.I looked down at the river,and it started to get louder and closer to us;soon raindrops pelted us.Once we moved out of the rain,the clouds faded away,and the sun was shining down on us for the rest of the day.As I looked around,I saw the monstrous,green trees standing over me.It was beautiful.
As we moved farther down the river,I heard the water flowing gracefully.When we moved deeper into the gorge,it got louder and louder.This was our first rapids.It seemed that we were approaching the rapids slowly,but we were at the top of the rapids in the blink of an eye.It felt like time frozen.I was so excited and nervous;I thought I was going to die.It was a bumpy ride down.Getting splashed with water,we raced up and down the rocks.There was not a patch of dry skin on us by the time we hit the bottom.
After we got through the rapids,I was so excited!Going down made me feel I could do anything.Our tour guide told us we were going to approach Category V rapids.It was more intense than the Category I rapids,and I got a little more nervous.It took us a little while to get to the rapids because we had to go down a long river.We were allowed to jump off the raft and swim down the river until we had to get back in.

My sister Priscilla and I just came back from a week-long vacation in Portugal with lots of photos.I'll remember so many wonderful things about my trip to the cities of Lisbon and Porto, but one experience in particular sticks out, something that happened on our last night in Lisbon.
Before the trip, I put together a very detailed route of places to see.One of the must-visit places on my list was Livraria do Simão, the smallest bookstore in Lisbon.On our very first day in Lisbon, Priscilla and I searched for it.We found the oldest bookstore in the world.But the smallest one was impossible to find! Back at the hotel, where we had Wi-Fi, I looked the bookstore up again, hoping we'd have time to find it on another day.But our schedule was delayed, and we probably wouldn't have time to look for it.
On our last full day in Lisbon, Priscilla and I took a day trip to Cascais, a coastal town outside the city.We decided, at the last minute, to visit a historic flea market (跳蚤市场).We walked for about an hour, up many steep hills.When we finally reached the market, completely out of breath, all the sellers were closing up.Not to mention that we were both tired and hungry.Priscilla and I argued over the directions.I insisted we turn right, which ended up being another had decision.We climbed up more steep hills, farther and farther away from any area we recognized.We made another right turn onto a random street and Priscilla stopped to check the map.Meanwhile, I looked up at the street sign, Rua da Madalena.I'd heard that name before.We continued a little farther up the street, and I spotted a few people hanging out in a lane.There was something particularly familiar about the scene.I looked closer.There was a small store practically hidden in the lane.It had books in its windows.
