Harry’s New York Bar

One of the bars Hemingway frequented was Harry’s New York Bar. Sitting on Paris’ Right Bank near the Paris Opera, the bar opened in 1911 and served as a meeting place for foreigners in the city. The bar was originally in New York. Its owner, Tod Sloan, had it shipped across the Atlantic to Paris. The “Harry’s” in the name came from a waiter who bought it from Sloan in 1923. Harry’s is the birthplace of a number of famous drinks, from Paris 75 to Sidecar.

Les Deux Magot

It was once the meeting place for famous writers in Paris, including Simone de Beauvoir and Jean-Paul Sartre. Hemingway also frequented the café, and even used it as a setting for his novel The Sun Also Rises.

La Closerie des Lilas

Hemingway wrote most of The Sun Also Rises here. La Closerie des Lilas was also the first place where Hemingway read F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel The Great Gatsby.

When his family ran out of money, Hemingway would sometimes hunt pigeons (鸽子) in Jardin du Luxembourg. Having broken their necks, he would hide them in his son’s clothes. You don’t have to hunt pigeons to explore and experience the natural beauty of the second largest park in Paris, however.

World Walk

Steven Newman

World Walk is the story of newspaper writer Steven Newman who packed his bag at the age of 28 to start a four year-long journey around the world on foot. He walked his way across 22 countries in five co6d heartfelt stories of the people he met along the way, as well as wild adventures A lesson of hope and love is told through the exciting backpacking.

On the Road

Jack Kerouac

On the Road is a classic American travel book. The story, which is based on Kerouac himself, tells us about Dean Moriarty’s cross-country journey across America in the 1940’s. A great read for those who would like to escape the real world for a while and just go where the wind blows them.

After you go on roller coasters, check out Mrs. Knott’s Chicken Dinner Restaurant. Some guests visit the theme park for that restaurant alone. Work up your appetite from walking around the park all day for a delicious chicken dinner.

Legoland California

Legoland California is a children＇s paradise (乐园). Kids are excited when they see their favorite toys come to life at a whole amusement park. There are also kid-themed shows for children to watch throughout the park so your children never grow bored. Don’t forget to try all the delicious food around Legoland like fried apples.

Singapore is one of the foreign countries     1     left a deep impression on me. I had a holiday in this wonderful country last summer and I stayed there for 5 days. It is a good place for those     2     love travelling with white shoes because the streets there are extremely clean. During my stay in Singapore, I visited some famous landmarks (地标)     3     include the Merlion statue, the Singapore Zoo and the Singapore Botanic Gardens. For me, Singapore is well worth visiting. Firstly, the public transport system there is extremely satisfying. Another thing     4     attracts me a lot is its multi-cultural nature. During the five days     5     I spent in Singapore, I met lots of people     6     nationalities were different from mine. So I got the chance to practice my English by speaking with local people and other tourists. It was really fun.
