Going to Mount Huangshan reminds me of the popular Beatles’ song “The Long and Winding Road”.     1     is so breathtaking about the experience is the out-of-this-world scenes. The rolling sea of clouds you see once you are at the top will remind you how tiny we     2     (human) are.

The hot spring at the foot of the mountain is something you must try after the climb. It will     3    (undoubted) help you get refreshed! A seed bank stores seeds to preserve genetic diversity; hence it is a type of gene bank. Many people may wonder     1     the seeds are stored. One of the major reasons is to preserve the genes that plant growers need to increase yield (产量), disease resistance, drought tolerance, nutritional quality, and the taste of crops. Many plants     4     (grow) centuries ago by humans are used less frequently now; seed banks offer a way to preserve that historical and cultural value. Welcome to Shangri-La (香格里拉) . Although located in Yunnan, it has many old    1    (village) with a unique countryside life. China has     1     ( successful) launched its space station— Tianhe. The successful launch marks that China’s space station construction has entered a full stage,     2     lays a solid foundation for the follow-up tasks. The station is expected to contribute to the peaceful     3     (develop) and use of space resources as well as to enrich technologies and experience for China’s future explorations into much     4     (deep) space.

Five launch tasks     5     (finish) last year. China plans another six tasks, including two manned spaceships. The tasks aim to complete     6     construction of the space station in 2022. The station will provide astronauts     7     six zones separately for work, sleep, dining, sanitation, healthcare and exercise. The station also has more     8     (advance) technologies due to the collected wisdom and strengths from universities, research institutes and industrial departments across the country.

So far many foreign space agencies     9     (propose) cooperative intention. China will start the selection of foreign astronauts and carry out joint flights according to the task progress. A composting (堆肥) program at The Wesley School in Los Angeles is helping students get hands-on experience and ways     1     (handle) human-driven climate change. For the past year, all the leftover food waste from the school has gone into composting containers rather than a landfill     2     it would be buried and would produce planet-warming gases.

The school’s composting program     3     (come) into being in 2022, and this year, the school held a     4    （celebrate) to reveal what happened inside a series of five-foot-tall containers. Steven Wynbrandt, a local farmer     5     composting consultant who has helped the school with its program, broke the ties that held the container closed. Rich black compost spilled out from the container.

The school will use the compost on plants around campus. Some will     6     (offer) to families that want to use it at home, and whatever is left will be donated.

It takes two hours for the container to be emptied and prepared to receive     7     next day’s lunch leftovers. The other containers remain full of food waste that is in the process of     8     (break) down. A miniature black horse with     1     white nose ran into a room in Nashville's Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital. Some of the kids sat in wheelchairs and some wore masks, but they all screamed with     2     （excite）. "I can't believe there's a horse in the hospital!" a boy said. On this day, instead of     3     （take）challenging medical tests and procedures, these kids got to have fun with Magic, a miniature horse.

Magic is a member of an all-volunteer charity, Gentle Carousel Miniature Therapy Horses. It     4     （run）by Debbie Garcia-Bengochea and her husband. Teams of therapy horses work with people     5     have experienced unpleasant events. Each year, the animals interact with more than 25,000 people of all ages in hospitals, schools, and     6     （library）.

Due to Magic's uniquely empathetic（善解人意的）personality, volunteers often expect her     9     （reach）people in the most difficult situations, whether they are children with life-threatening illnesses     10     first people rescued from an earthquake. Not only does her presence comforts, but also it heals.
