Some students prefer to consider majors first so that they can learn which they are interested in. It will also make it possible for them take their favorite jobs in the future. However, those who think differently believes that the environment is important to one’s development. They also believe that students graduate from leading universities are often more likely to find good jobs. In my opinion, a best choice is to choose a good major at a good university. But if they can’t obtain both, the first thing to consider was a good major. Because no matter where they study, we can still achieve a lot in a certain field if they try their best.

Recently, the senior three students in our school have had a discussion on if to go to a nearby university or not. Seventy percents of them prefer universities in their local city, believed it will be convenient for them and their parents to take care of each other. We can go back home much easily. However, the other students chose universities far away from home so that they can be more independence. They can also make a few of new friends and see more of the world. Personal, I favor an university outside our province, which can offer us more living and working experience in society.

Last Friday we have a discussion about whether it is the only way out for senior students to go to college. Views vary from person to person. The majority of us consider this very necessary to go to college. They think it can be widen their knowledge and improve their qualities. Only in this way can they find better jobs before graduation. Very few students think it no use go to university, because the tuition is too high for their family to afford. What’s more, it’s rather hard for college graduates to seek satisfied jobs. Thirty percents of the students, however, believe “All roads lead Rome.” Therefore, it doesn’t make some difference whether they go to college or not.
In my opinion, we can better themselves through college education so that we can serve society better in the future.
