1 . People who seem to have all the luck are not usually blessed by a large amount of good fortune. They simply have a healthy attitude, which enables them to make the most of situations. Here are some tips for creating your own luck.

.Be Grateful for What You Have

Some people are already lucky, and they just don’t know it.     1     For example, you have a happy family, some wonderful friends, a roof over your head and food on the table. By acknowledging these things regularly, you can instantly feel luckier.

.See the Good In the Past

People sometimes complain about their past for holding them back. They blame their parents or their schooling for not setting them up for success. But having a difficult life develops strengths and qualities you might never have got if you hadn’t been through those tough situations.     2    

.Be Generous

If you want people to give you opportunities, you have to consider what you can do for others.

.Be Open to New Things

I’m writing to tell you our plan to visit Mount Huangshan. I’d be very happy to accompany you to go here. Mount Huangshan, locating in southern Anhui Province, famous for its fantastic scenery. Mount Huangshan has more famous scenic attractions than many another mountains in China. It is wide known for the beautifully-shaped pine tree, clouds and rocks. The hot springs, that come out from deep underground, are suitable to bathe in and even to drink. As it was often cloudy and rainy on the mountain, it would be better to bring a raincoat and wear the suitable pair of shoes. Let’s meet at 7:40 at the school gate on this Saturday morning. Yuan Longping (1930-2021) was a pioneer for all people.    1    he was one of China's most famous scientist, Yuan Longping considered himself a farmer. Indeed, his sunburnt face and arms and his slim, strong body were just like those of millions of Chinese farmers, for    2    he had struggled for decades. Dr Yuan Longping developed super hybrid rice. In 1974, he became    3    first agricultural pioneer in the world    4    (grow) rice with a high output. Now more than 60% of the rice    5    (produce) in China each year is from this hybrid strain.

Dr Yuan graduated from Southwest Agricultural College in 1953. As a young man, he saw the great need for increasing the rice output. At that time, hunger was a    6    (disturb) problem in many parts of the countryside. Dr Yuan searched for a way to increase rice harvests    7    expanding the area of the fields. In1950, Chinese farmers could produce only fifty million tons of rice. In a recent harvest, however, nearly two hundred million tons of rice was produced. These increased harvests mean that 22% of the world's people    8    (feed) from just 7% of the farmland in China.

Dr Yuan was quite satisfied with his life. However, he didn’t care about being famous. Long ago, Dr Yuan had a dream about rice plants with the     9    (high) of sorghum. Many years later, he had    10    dream to export his rice to other countries.

7 . When asked to point out one or two things that are the most important to themselves, many put friends ahead of homes, jobs, clothes and cars.

A true friendship carries a long history of experience that determines who we are and keeps us connected. It is a treasure we should protect. Unfortunately, the better friends you are, the more probably you'll have disagreements. And the result can be what you don’t want, an end to the relationship.

The good news is that most troubled friendships can be mended. First, don't let your pride get in your way. Most of us can forgive each other when differences are brought out in the open. Second, apologize when you’re wrong — even if you've been wronged. Over the course of a friendship, even the best people make mistakes. Sometimes, it may be best if the wronged person takes the lead and apologizes. When you apologize, give your friend a chance to admit that he has been wrong. Third, see things from your friend's point of view. And finally, accept that friendships change as our needs and lifestyles change. Making friends can sometimes seem easy. The hard part is keeping the connections strong during the natural ups and downs that have an effect on all relationships. My suggestion: consider the friendship an honor and a gift, and worth the effort to treasure and nurture (培养).
