Forests are like a big, green blanket that covers the Earth.     1     They help clean the air and give us fresh oxygen. Forests are home to many animals and plants, making them very special places on our planet.

Imagine forests as huge gardens that take in bad air and change it into good air for us to breathe. They are very important because they are home to more than half of all the animals and plants we know.     2     This makes forests very important for keeping our Earth healthy and full of life     3     森林覆盖了地球陆地的三分之一。 They are found all around the world, from hot, wet rainforests to cold. snowy forests. Each forest has its own types of trees, plants, and animals that cannot live anywhere else.

Holidays play an important part in our life. We work hard during the year, so we feel tired and stressed at times.     1     We need holidays to relax, even if they only last for a few days. This is especially true for women. They could get away from their husbands, children and family for even one week in the year.

Our annual school Science Festival finished on Friday and     1     再一次带来了惊人的乐趣. This year’s ”space“ theme was truly excellent and     2     showed off all of the students’ creative talent.

The experiment allowed students to get a taste of what it was like to live in outer space.

The Science Festival also attracted much interest from students.

The risk of the COVID-19 is growing in winter. Here are some tips for protecting yourselves against the COVID-19 in winter.

    1     Avoid getting together. We should limit the number of people allowed into public places such as cinemas; keep away from each other at least 1 meter when getting together; wear a mask at crowed public places.

Keep clean. Keep your room clean.     2     经常打开窗户保持房间的空气新鲜。 Wash hands with running water and soap after returning from public places, before eating and after using the restroom.     3     不要用脏手摸眼睛、嘴巴和鼻子。 Cover nose and mouth when coughing; don’t go to crowded places when sick.

Eat properly. Fresh and frozen meat should be fully cleaned; keep the cooked and uncooked food apart. Use serving chopsticks and spoons at restaurants.

Exercise regularly. Daily exercise could keep our body healthy. Exercise can make our heart and lungs stronger. Avoid catching a cold; sleep well.     4     Don’t stay up too late. It’s bad for our body.

Be careful. When you feel sick such as a runny nose, fever or coughing, go to hospital for treatment right away.     5     Don’t take medicines without asking a doctor for advice.

I read your magazine every month.     1     我自己也是一个青少年, and have some problems at home that I hope you can help me with.     2     The main problem is that I can't get along with my father. Whenever I want to do something or suggest an idea, such as a restaurant we can go to for dinner, he doesn't listen to me. Then, when I refuse to listen to him, he shouts at me angrily.     3     He and my mother always make me do things I don't like, such as playing the piano and doing housework. Then, whenever I have some spare time and want to be alone, they call me selfish and distant!     4     如果我放外国音乐，我父亲很烦。Also, every time I watch a DVD: he sends me to bed or tells me to spend more time studying. He even forbids me from chatting with my friends in the Internet cafe!     5     I love him a lot, but I don't understand why he is so hard on me and will not respect the things I want to do. He was once a teenager—he should understand me better than he does.
