4 . In this article, I’m going to show you certain aspects of the Chinese language and explain why they make learning the language a lot easier than you might think.
No verb conjugations (变化)
When you learn English, you need to remember how the verb changes with the subject and time. In Chinese, there are no verb inflections (词尾的屈折变化) at all.
No grammatical cases
In English, we make a difference between how pronouns are used depending on if they are the subject or the object of a sentence.
Flexible parts of speech
When learning English, you need to remember different forms of the words depending on what part of speech they belong to. For example, we say “ice” (noun), “icy” (adjective) and “to ice” (verb). These look different.
Word order in Chinese can be a little bit tricky, but it becomes much easier at more advanced levels. As a beginner, there are a few patterns you need to learn, and once you’ve done that, you can just fill in the words you’ve learnt and people will be able to understand. It also helps that the basic word order is the same as in English: subject—verb—object.
What all these boil down to is that learning Chinese needn’t be all that hard. Yes, reaching an advanced level takes a lot of time and effort.

6 . Can People Really Learn to "Speed Read”?
There never seems to be enough time to read these days. With so many books and articles—especially on social media——the ability to read faster could be a life-changer.
“Speed reading is not actually possible," said Elizabeth Schotter, a scientist at the University of South Florida.
Some books and classes train people to read whole passages all at once by scanning text in a zigzag(之字形)pattern. These methods suggest that our eyes make wasted movements when looking back and forth over words. But studies find that the limit to reading comprehension is the ability to recognize words.
In recent years, numerous apps have claimed they can boost reading speed. These apps display text just one word at a time, one after another at a certain rate.

9 . The world that we live in is beautiful because it’s made up of people from a diverse set of backgrounds and cultures.
During this time, our multicultural world is embraced and celebrated for all of the variety and joy it brings. Can you imagine a world where everyone looks the same, has the exact same hobbies and interests, and even eats the same thing for breakfast, lunch and dinner?
To put it simply, our diversity and inclusiveness (包容性)are our biggest strengths. We’ll all profit from a more diverse, inclusive society, understanding, accommodating, even celebrating our differences, while pulling together for the common good. 10 . The world has spent a long time living with the pandemic. But many people have become lazy about protecting their safety. Are you spending time indoors and unmasked with trusted friends? Or eating in restaurants or making more trips to the grocery store? New types of COVID-19 mean you should try to cut back on exposure. And where you can, double down on basic safety.
Wear masks
The N95 mask is the gold standard. It may cost too much or be hard to find. A cloth mask does a good job of filtering particles that cause infection.
If you go to the store two or three times a week, cut back to once a week. If you have been spending 30 to 45 minutes in the grocery store, cut down your time in the store.
Spend less time indoors with people who are not from your household. If you must spend time with others, wear your best mask. Be sure any space is well ventilated (通风)(open windows and doors). Keep the visit as short as possible.
The coronavirus vaccine may or may not be the solution. As of now, you are the best answer. Take care. Do not let your guard down!
