Rocky Lyons was five years old when his mother Kelly was driving through rural Alabama. He was asleep on the front seat of their truck     1     (盘起双腿). Suddenly, the truck turned over down to a valley. Rocky moved out from under Kelly,     2     (溜进) through the open window and tried to pull his mother out. But she didn’t move. The boy just couldn’t stop crying his heart out. No sooner had the doctor told Rocky his mother was fine than he     9     (冲进) the room. Until his mother was asleep, then he    10     (蹑手蹑脚地) quietly out of the room.

As the twins looked around them in disappointment, their father appeared. He approached them and     1     (把他们拉进怀里). “What’s up?” father gently inquired. Before the twins carried the breakfast upstairs and woke their mother up, they     8     (伸出一根手指按在嘴上) to ask their father to keep secret. Staring at the carefully prepared food, the mother     9     (把孩子抱在怀里 ), tears running down her face.

Anne’s father     1     (眯起眼睛), wondering what had happened. Then, he     2     (转向) the door when he heard the handle turning. Eyeing Anne come in, her father     3     (上下打量), confused. Though her blue eyes were full of tears, she     4     (注视) her father’s expression. Anne     5     (直视着父亲) and told him the truth. When learning the truth, he     6     (紧闭双眼) and bit his lip, with tears running/rolling/streaming down his cheeks.

My mother had never used a mobile phone until she    1     (receive)one for her birthday this year. Since then, she has been    2     (addict) to the Internet, using different kinds of     3     (软件) applications. She spends a lot of time each day    4    (explore) websites and chatting with other people online. She has set up her own email    5    (账户)and she does most of the shopping online through a dvice. Instead of going to supermarkets, nowadays she just     6     (press) a button and then her orders are     7     (deliver) the next day. At first, my father had some concerns     8     she was spending too much time in virtual worlds, but now he sees how happy she is. She even    9    (下载)some materials that can help my father with his work, so now he’s very happy, too! We are all very    10    (自豪的)of her as she has proven that it’s never too late to learn a new skill.
