Thanks for your concern for my hometown and I’m writing to tell you about it new look. Great changes have been taken place here in recent years. Firstly, a wide and straight road replaces the narrow muddy road last year. Besides, the river, you know, used to be polluted heavily, giving off a terrible smell, but now, it is such clear that groups of fish can be seen swim freely in it. What’s more, do you still remember the bare hills, on them we flew kites? They are both covered with green trees, which is home to birds.

Last Saturday, I was left alone at home, struggle with my history homework. To seek inspiration, I decided to hang out. I was wandering around the town center while I discovered a museum. Walking in, I saw some ancient fishing equipments on display. Then I went one floor up. That drew my attention were some old tape machines I have never seen before. I’d love to share with you my personally opinions on city life and life in small towns. I grow up in a small town and then moved to a big city at 18, so I have experienced the good and bad side of both. I never thought that I would enjoy live in a big city, but I was wrong. After ten years of living on one, I can’t imagine ever living in a small town again. Surely small towns and big cities all have some problems in terms of transport. In a small town, you have to own a car make life comfortable. Big cities generally have heavy traffic and expensive parking, but there you have a choice of taking public transport, which is cheap than driving. I can always enjoy a lot of films, concerts, and another wonderful shows. However, these things are not rare in small towns.

Parks provide people for a place to amuse themselves for a while in order to avoid involve themselves too much in busy life. In recent decades, however, many parks have designed to provide entertainment. We call them as theme parks. The new parks are usually huge places and had a variety of things to see and do. Last Spring Festival, I visited Uncle Li in the countryside with my parents. It was not the first time that I stayed in the countryside, but we still felt interested and excited. Differently from living in the city, I could always get quite close to the nature, enjoying the bright sunshine and fresh air. But that amazed me most may be the great change that have taken place in the local people’s life. For example, almost every family own at least one car or Wi-Fi access is available everywhere. Those changes make me feeling very proud as a Chinese and inspire me to work harder with a better future of our country.

Dear boys and girls,
Recently, I have seen an increasingly number of stray cats hanging around the campus. Some of them are strong when others seem to be in bad shapes.
It’s hard to imagine that would happen if we just left them as they are. Last Friday, our class organized a visit to the city museum. We got to there by bus. First, we listened to the brief introduction to the museum. Then, we set out to exploring the museum in small groups. Which caught our attention first was some skillful carved bronze ware dating from the Shang Dynasty. Afterwards, we looked at some cultural relics relate to Shanxi merchants and local custom. To be honest, I felt amazing at the wide range of exhibits on display.
I benefited a lot from this experience. Not only it widen my horizons and it made me take pride in the history of my hometown.

Nearly five years before, and with the help by our father, my sister and I planted some cherry tomatoes in our back garden. Since then—for all these years—we had been allowing tomatoes to self-seed where they please. As result, the plants are growing somewhere. The fruits are small in size, but juicy and taste. There are so much that we often share them with our neighbors. Although we allow tomato plant to grow in the same place year after year, but we have never had any diseases or insect attack problems. We are growing wonderfully tomatoes at no cost.
