The other day, we moved to the new school yard, where lies in the far north of the city. We were all on high spirits. It is much big than the old one. The classrooms are bright and clean. Our teachers often play the basketball and soccer together with us. As spring approached, the flowers newly planting in the yard have just come out. Nowadays more and more students attend different kind of training classes or hire tutors to improve their grades at weekends.
Some of the students think that necessary to do so. Firstly, it's more effective to study under a teacher's help than by themselves. Secondly, students can make up for that they miss or fail to understand in class on weekdays. Besides, they can have more chances and time communicate with teachers.
Therefore, others don't think so. For one thing, the students can easily develop the habit of dependence, causing some students not to listen attentive in their regular classes. For another, students needed time for rest and recreation at weekends. What's worse, attend training classes means costing them much money.

Last Saturday, I took part in an English speech competition hold by our school. I was really excited about it. When it was my turn, I walked onto the stage. I felt nervously and frightened with such large a crowd looking at me! I was about to give up as I saw my family members seated there. I regained belief in me at once. I was announced as one of the second-prize winner and all my family take great pride in me for my success.
I am glad to have participated in contest. I learnt a lot of from this experience. I improved my English speaking skills. I also learnt what to face people bravely and confidently.

Today I attended to the English corner in our school. It was the first time that I communicated with others in English. Six English teachers and three native speaker were also invited to participate in an activity. Mr. Smith, a foreign expert work in our city, chatted with us about western customs and cultures, where broadened our horizons. The participants also talked with each other about how they were interested in. I had never had a chance to speak English ago, so I was nervous on the beginning. Dear Peter,
I'm so glad to hear from you and know about how you are doing these days. I'm writing to tell you how our schooling are now going on. Actually we are having e-learning at home, learn in the "classroom in the air" all the academic and non-academic subject. The holiday schedule runs from 8 : 00 am till 4 : 30 pm on work day, with more and long breaks for rest than usual. Personally I've got used for learning online, which I think it is a creative form of schooling and also our own way to resist COVID-19 epidemic, but I real miss the days with friends and teachers on campus. That's why I pray for the end of the epidemic every day, but believe it will soon come to end.

I took part in an English Speech Contest last week. As only competitor from our class, I had to compete with 14 other excellent participants selecting from the whole school. When it is my turn, I got a little bit nervous at first, but soon I calmed me down at the thought of my English teacher’s instructions. Then anything went smoothly. I performed so good that the judges and audiences gave me a big round of applause. Although the question-and-answer section was the most challenging, but I managed to get through properly. When the judge announced the finally result, I was excited that I won first prize, that was totally beyond my imagination.

Last term an English speech contest is held in our school. Seeing the notice, many students took interests in it. My English teacher Miss Li thought it was a good chance for me to improving my English and encouraged me to take part. So I decided to have a try. During the prepare, my teacher offered me great help. She not only polished with my speech draft and also corrected my pronunciation. As a result, my speech improved great. To welcome the coming New Year, our class hold a party last night. Before the party, we decorated the classroom with colorful balloons and flower. Our teachers also came to the party. We students have been asking about our opinions on opening iPad classrooms. I am in the favor of this plan for the following reason. To begin with, everyone learns different and everyone can get an iPad with many materials that fits his level and learning style. Moreover, getting online, students can talk teachers and classmates easily. We can learn a lot much conveniently than ever. We were considering making an English magazine, and without hands-on experience we didn’t know how to start it. To get profession instructions, we left for Beijing to visit a chief editor of Beijing Review, the famous English journal. Busy as he was, he showed me around, explaining us the amazing history of the journal and its production process. Beside, he offered us lots of tip, which were practical and valuable. What make us especially happy was that when he promised to give us continuous guidance. Filling with confidence, we are now beginning to handle our magazine.
