4 . Teen anger takes many forms. What we can see is the expression of it — the behavior. Teenagers will continue their behavior, until they decide to find out the roots (根源) of their anger, which is usually caused by something going on in a teen’s life.

Teen anger can be a frightening feeling, which can destroy lives and relationships, hurt others, affect (影响) health, and cloud futures. But there is a positive aspect, as it can show that a problem exists and can help us face our issues.

Teenager face a lot of emotional (情感的) issues during this period of development. They’re faced with doubts of identity, relationships, and independence. The relationship between teens and their parents is also changing as teens become more and more independent. This can bring about anger for both parents and teens.

So what can teens and parents do? Listen to your teen and focus on feelings. Try to understand the situation from his or her opinion. Anger is a kind of feeling.    1     很多事情能使你愤怒。When your teacher gives you too much homework, when your team loses an important game, and when a friend borrows your favorite thing and then breaks it, you may get really angry.

2     Usually, your body will tell you when you are angry. For example, you breathe faster, your face turns red, and you may want to break something or hit someone, but sometimes, you hide your anger.

For example, you may hide it in your heart. he problem is that if you do this, you may get a headache or your stomach may hurt.

In fact, it’s not good to hide your anger, and it’s normal for you to get angry sometimes.     3     But anger must be let out in the right way, ithout hurting others or yourself.

When you get angry, you can talk about it with other people. It’s helpful to talk about your anger with an adult such as parents, a teacher, etc.     4     When you talk about anger, those bad feelings can start to go away. Here are some other things you can do when you start to feel angry: talk to a good friend; count from 1 to 100; give someone a hug; go for a bike ride; think about good things, etc.

Remember that how you act when you are angry can make everything better or worse.    5     不要让你的愤怒控制你。

6 . 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。

Joe worked as a night watchman in a factory after he graduated from high school. It was a lonely job, but he was content. He stopped by the beach every day on his way home to watch the sunrise.

One day, he was walking on the beach when he noticed a bottle in the surf. Joe picked it up and saw a roll of paper inside it. His heart beat fast. He removed the lid and opened the letter. “Hi! My name is Ritchie. I’m sending this message in the hope that somebody will find it and become my friend.”

It saddened Joe to think of this boy waiting and hoping somebody would answer his message. He took his cell phone from his pocket and dialed the number written near the bottom of the page.

However, the number didn’t exist anymore. Joe was determined to find Ritchie, so he went straight to the city library for help. A librarian took him to a section of the library that felt deserted. There, she pointed him to the shelves filled with old telephone books. She sat down with him, and they searched the telephone books for Ritchie’s phone number together. Two hours later, the librarian let out an excited scream. “I found him!”

“Thank you,” Joe said, quickly copying down the address. He immediately headed for the address from the phone book. He almost screamed when he saw that the house at the address had been transformed into a hair salon. Joe stared at the sign. He held the message from the bottle in one fist and the paper with the address in the other. He walked in and explained everything to the barber. “Ritchie was born with disabilities. He has been using a wheelchair since he was a kid. Well, he’s an old man now. If you still want to find him, I hear he’s at the Serenity nursing home.” Joe thanked the man and drove to the nursing home.

文章大意:本文是一篇说明文。文章主要介绍了愤怒是一种健康的情感,需要妥善对待。

8 . Anger is a natural feeling that everyone experiences in life. Some researchers believe the first sound a baby makes when born could be a sign of anger. Anger may be the first feeling we have and respond to. It’s in many cases a perfectly healthy feeling. Anger can cause people to make very positive changes in their lives. Sometimes we have to be angry at injustice (不公正), at wrong doings, or even at nature, before we can do what needs to be done to correct wrongs or make things better. But of course, that is not how we usually think of anger.

Most people think of anger as a feeling we must keep under control. Children are sometimes sent to their rooms or punished for expressing anger in an uncontrolled way. Parents tell a child to control himself when the child shows anger. We may be angry with friends or at work, but we know it’s not right to show it. Very early in life, we learn that anger is something that must be controlled.

We learn this for a good reason. Uncontrolled anger can lead to fights, car accidents, bad relationships with others, unacceptable social behavior, and many other problems. However, many experts say that if one suppresses his anger, he may suffer serious mental and physical health problems. So what can we do to understand and calm this feeling?

One solution is to talk about it with someone we trust, for example, a good friend. We can also try to walk away from a situation that causes anger, ask a doctor for advice, or just exercise more in our daily life. And of course we may have many other methods. Whatever solution we choose, as long as we are trying to find the solution to the problem, we have already taken the first step in the right direction.

A.lead to justiceB.keep us healthy

B.Anger appears early in life.
C.We shouldn’t get angry at work.

A.holds inB.takes inC.expressesD.understands
4. Which of the following can help deal with anger?

名校
文章大意:这是一篇新闻报道。文章主要讲的是学校在疫情期间,通过狗狗来愉悦那些失去亲人的孩子们,以及发现孩子们的心理问题。

10 . Gravy started working as a comfort dog at Grand Ledge High School in Michigan in September. She showed off tricks in the hallways with her handler (驯兽员), Capra, and made students laugh aloud. When students learned that Gravy’s first birthday fell just before Thanksgiving break, they asked Capra if they could throw a party. Capra said sure, thinking there wouldn’t be many people interested. However, on the big day, there were several hundred students in this gym.

The pandemic (大流行病) has been hard on students across the United States. Many young people experienced loneliness and the loss of loved ones. To solve the problem, schools have hired social workers and increased the number of their social-emotional learning classes. In some cases, they bought dogs.

Undoubtedly, the dogs make kids happy.“He’s kind of like a rock star; when the kids see him coming, they smile,“ said Traci Souva, an art teacher at North Huron Schools who trains Chipper, another comfort dog. “A lot of times the kids will tell Chipper what’s wrong rather than adults, and that’s pretty amazing.”

There are possible blemishes of having dogs in school. These include cleanliness, and student fears. But school officials say these are all manageable. The dogs are highly trained and always with a handler, so no student is forced to communicate with the dogs if they don’t want to.

Since the pandemic, demand for trained dogs in schools“has just increased,“ said Nikki Brown, a dog trainer and the director of Canines for Change, a nonprofit that trains dogs for work in schools. Over the last year, her organization has provided dogs to at least seven areas in Michigan, including Grand Ledge. “The dogs are highly trained to be in a school environment,” she added.“They are trained to work with kids with emotional problems. They sense stress. By the dogs’ behaviour they might warn a teacher of a kid who is struggling emotionally.“

1. Which of the following best describes Gravy as a comfort dog?
A.Tricky.B.Popular.C.Humorous.D.Caring.
2. What does the underlined word“blemishes” mean in paragraph 4?
A.Requirements.B.Disadvantages.C.Influences.D.Suggestions.
3. What can we infer from Nikki Brown’s words?
A.Working on campus brings a lot of pressure to dogs.
B.There is a high global market demand for trained dogs.
C.School environment can affect dogs’ behaviour greatly.
D.The dogs have the ability to notice students’ mental illness.
4. What is the best title for the text?
A.How dogs relieve students’ mental problems
B.How dogs ensure students’ safety on campus
C.How dogs enrich students’ after-school activities
D.How dogs develop students’ sense of responsibility
