A visually-challenged man from Beijing recently hiked (徒步) 40 days to Xi’an, as a first step     1     (journey) the Belt and Road route (路线) by foot.

On the 1,100 kilometer journey, the man Cao Shengkang,     2     lost his eyesight at the age of eight in a car accident, crossed 40 cities and counties in three provinces. Inspired by the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation     3     (hold) in Beijing, Cao decided to cover the route by hiking as a tribute (致敬) to the ancient Silk Road.     4     friend of his, Wu Fan, volunteered to be his companion during the trip.

Cao and Wu also collected garbage along the road, in order to promote environmental     5     (protect). Cao believes this will make the hiking trip even more     6     (meaning). The two of them collected more than 1,000 plastic bottles along the 40-day journey.

In the last five years. Cao     7     (walk) through 34 countries in six continents, and in 2016, he reached the top of Kilimanjaro, Africa’s     8     (high) mountain.

Now, Cao has started the second part of his dream to walk along the Belt and Road route. He flew 4, 700 kilometers     9     Xi’an to Kashgar on Sept. 20,     10     (plan) to hike back to Xi’an in five months.

The ancient town of Fenghuang is a place with beautiful village life in rural China. Having travelled directly from the busy city, I regard Fenghuang as a better     1     (choose) to have a breath of the fresh air.

When I paid     2     visit to Fenghuang, it was July. My friend and I     3    (excited) explored, walking along the ancient wall and crossing the beautiful, old bridges. People there were very     4    (relax). They were neither troubled by the hot weather nor by the tourists, walking, eating and playing outdoors.     5     the first evening we bought spicy, cold noodles and ate on the riverbank as we watched the sunset.

Today I will share a true story about an overseas student    1    studied in Germany.

After years of hard work, this student graduated with    2    (amaze) achievements. Everyone was sure that he was going to get a good job    3    (easy) and have a bright future. But to his surprise, he was not even given the chance for    4    interview! The answer was simple. “We don’t offer jobs to dishonest people in Germany.”

You might wonder what was wrong. The truth is, shortly after he    7    (arrive) in Germany, this clever student found that    8    was easy to skip(逃票) buying subway tickets in this country. So in order to save money, he often went in the subway without a ticket. As a result, he had been caught without a ticket many times.

From this story, we learn that we may get short-term benefits（好处）in dishonest ways,     9    the truth will come out sooner or later and the cost is high. So remember that    10    (honest) may lead to failure. We must be honest. It is a rule.

No matter your age, you may consider My Neighbor Totoro an     1     (impress) movie. Delighted, heartwarming, and just plain beautiful, Totoro is one of Hayao Miyazaki’s most beloved     2     (work). A creative couple in Takaharu, Japan wanted to bring that magic to life in the real world. So they    3     (create) the immediately recognizable Totoro bus stop for their grandchildren. The life-sized     4     (construct) quickly turned into a local tourist attraction.

I don’t know about you, but I want to go there immediately, even if it’s raining.

Wood, bricks, and cement (水泥) might not sound like a magical mixture, but in the hands of an     5     (experience) worker, they became a real-life Totoro.
