Even though this is not the greatest act of kindness, I still think that I was able to make someone’s day brighter. My family and I     1     (be) together enjoying Sunday afternoon. My father had just given me my allowance（零花钱）of 100 dollars,     2     I was planning to save in order to buy a phone case. That afternoon we went to church since we hadn’t gone for a long time. We entered and sat on one of the wooden     3     (bench). Time went by quickly, and soon we were leaving.

Outside the church, there was     4     old, poor woman asking for money. She seemed to be     5     (home). No one was giving her any money, and I felt the need     6     (help) her. I remembered that my dad once told me, “You shouldn’t give any money     7     people on the streets. If they want money so badly, they should get a job.” I thought to myself, “there’s no way this woman can get a job     8     (easy).” So I carefully approached the woman and gave her the 100 dollars I     9     (give) earlier. In the end, she looked at me and smiled while     10     (say) “thank you.” I really felt like I was able to improve that lady’s day.
