My English teacher recommended me to take a part in an English speech competition. But I doubt that I have the ability to win. As is known to all my classmates that I can speak English as if he were a native speaker. However, I dare not voice my opinions, especial in public. My best friend Lily has been encouraged me to accept the challenge. On her opinion, whether I can win the competition or not doesn’t matter as long I try my best. Encouraged by her, I have decided to having a try, challenging myself. I must conquer my shy. Wish myself good luck.
3 . In Germany there are different kinds of high schools. Some prepare students for workers, others prepare them for college. All schools are great places for making friends and learning German.
Short days
Most high schools in Germany begin at about 8:00 a.m. and end at about 3:30 p.m. This means your morning will be busy with classes. You will have time to do homework and take part in private(私人的) clubs after school.
Formal setting
In Germany, teachers and students’ relationship is more formal than you might be used to. Teachers are respected and students must use the formal “Sie(德语:您)” when talking to teachers.
Getting to school
Most students take public transport to school or ride a bicycle. Some areas have school buses. It is not common for parents to drive students to school.
Private clubs
In many countries, schools offer official sports and after-school activities. This is less common in Germany. After-school activities are usually organized through private clubs. There are clubs for things like soccer, dance, choir, theatre and almost everything else. Once you are in Germany, ask around at school and talk to other students to find out what private clubs are in your area and meet your interests.

The Ministry(部) of Education requires that universities should carry out at least 14 days' military training for freshmen(新生).
Hou Zhengfang, an education expert, questioned the benefits of military training. “It does little to improve students' physical health over only two weeks' time,” she said. “Maybe some disaster prevention training, such as earthquake survival or escaping from fires, would be of greater benefit.”
A freshman who fainted(晕倒) during training said that many students, especially girls, are unwilling to train in direct sunshine. “For me, military training is physically challenging and even damages my health,” said the 19-year-old.
Although Chu Jinjing, a Tsinghua University freshman, did feel some discomfort while training in the heat, the 18-year-old did recognize the benefits of military training. “By going through this tough(艰难的) training, I've become more independent and determined,” said Chu. “I have also managed to make a lot of friends.”

We reached a park at nine o’clock. The whole class divided into three groups. Group One planted trees and water flowers. Group Two picked up litter leaving by the tourists and cleaned all the benches. The group which I was in wiped all the equipments in the Children’s Playground. All of us worked hardly. Before noon we finished working. Each of us felt a little bit tired, so we were happy because we had done a good deed.
