My list of favorite books are long. I read a lot and I just keep finding new favorites. In my family, we often talk about the books we are reading and passing around our favorites. It benefits a whole family.
I discovered how share favorite books can help strength a friendship long ago. When I was a kid, my friend Liz became very sicker and was going to miss a lot of school. I fill a big bag with some of my favorite books for her read. She never forgot that. Today, she lives thousand of miles away from me, but she sometimes e-mails with me about the books she is reading.

Reading have a lot of benefits. It can open up our eyes because of books are full of knowledge. I like reading newspapers and magazines from that I get lots of fun and learn about what’s going on around the world. I also read storybooks or novels which make me relaxing and happy. I seldom read e-book because they’re bad for eyes. On weekends, I usual spend a whole afternoon read in the library. And I also read for about half the hour before going to bed every night. Now I am going to read more classics as well as English books improve my language skills. I’m sure reading can make a difference to my life.

I bought a book about motivation the few weeks ago. My mother asked me that I would like to share it with others when she finished reading the book. Of course, I was willingly to give it to those who wanted it. It occurs to me that I should send it to my friend, Pam. She supported me through my learning journey but I valued her friendship greatly. Fortunately, she was being admitted into a key university last year. I told her pass it on to someone else if it wasn’t fit to her. I hoped that it would be reading instead of sitting on my bookshelf.
When reading, I used to skip some parts of a story what were unattractive to me. As a result, I failed to find fun or became impatient. To solve the problem, I forced myself to reading every paragraph with a patience, trying to follow the plot. To my delight, I even finish Jane Eyre smoothly. I could see the world through the eyes of different role in the book. This was great progress to her. Now, I have harvested a lot from reading. It provides me knowledge, and convinces me entire that being alone is not lonely. With books in my hand, I’ve got a colorful world belonged to me.

I am used to reading English classics in our spare time. I always enjoy myself following the stories and communicate with the characters. Personally, reading English classics are of great benefit to students. Firstly, it can made us really interested in English learning because of we are often attracted by the touching plots. Also, it broadens our horizons as it like traveling through time and space, where is a good way to learn more about the world. Additionally, we will definite improve ourselves by reading English classics. Namely, those good quality in the characters will shape one into a good person than now. Just have a try!

I enjoy learning English but can remember individual words easy. However, when it comes to reading comprehension, it’s really the challenge. Last weekend, I tried to read a storybook write in English to improve my reading. At first, I refer to the dictionary every time I came across a new word, which I found it not very helpful. I often felt puzzling about what I had read. Then I tried to finish a chapter completely with looking up the new words. What surprised me was I could understand the story merely from the context. I hope I will make great progresses in English in this way.

Last week, one of my favorite day arrived — the Library’s Book Sale Day. When my mom and I waited in line, the workers chatted in the front of us. They said it was ten but the last book sale, because the people who ran them would retire. Hear their words, we were very sad. Then, an idea occurred me that we could volunteer to run the book sale but my mom agreed. Final, we made an application to the library officer. To our delight, we get the chance. It’s exciting for us to be able to run the book sale in person.

Once I had to read a textbook which was so expensive for me to buy it. I couldn’t obtain it from the library and the only copy I could find was in a certain bookshop. So I go to the shop every afternoon and read a little of the book in a time. One day, therefore, I was disappointed to find the book missing from its usually place. I was about leave when the owner of the shop waved at me. Expecting to be told off, I went towards him. To his surprise, the owner pointed to the book placed in a corner.“I put it there in cases it should be bought, ”he said kindly, left me to continue my reading.
