1 . I am often asked how I learned to speak, read and write Chinese. The short answer, in my case, was a combination of good fortune and hard work.
The first year was fun, but then our teacher moved to China and the replacement was ill-equipped for the task. The next year my family moved to the US. For the next two years I studied Chinese with a tutor who came to my home. She was my first native Chinese speaking teacher. She had been living in the US for over a decade. We got along well and I have many fond memories of our lessons.
Back in Australia to start Grade 11, my new school was chosen partly because it offered advanced Chinese classes.
By the time I arrived in Beijing in February 2014, I could already read and write Chinese pretty well.

Li Dan is an exchange student in a British high school. She sat next to a girl name Diana. The headmaster told the students that the best way earn respect was to devote themselves to study and achieve high grade. Although the homework was not heavier than before, but it was a bit challenging for him at first because all the homework was in English. Fortunate, all her teachers gave her much encouragement. To improve her English, she spent an hour each day read English books in the library. In the word, studying in Britain was a very enjoyable and excited experience for Li Dan.

My English has never been very perfectly. I have many puzzles, especially on English grammar. I will be a senior-three student after the summer vacation. Concerned about my English, dad turned his teacher for help. Dad studied very poorly as young but failed to enter the university, which he regrets all his life. But he worships his English teacher whom retired last year. Thus, he sent me to his teacher, beg him to direct me in my English study. He is the real expert. Soon I was attracted by his rich knowledges. He cleared up my doubts one by one. To my excite, he gave me three books he had wrote about English study. I am like his grammar book very much.

Today after class in the afternoon, our English group get together with our handsome English teacher. To start with, we sang a popular English song happy and then we practised our speak English. The topic we were talking about was the different between Chinese festivals or western ones. Most students compared Spring Festival to Christmas, and others chose Mid-Autumn Festival and Thanksgiving Day as a match.
As we had been talked too much, all of us got quite thirsty. Seen this, our teacher fetched a box of bottled water from my office for us. What timely offer! Thank you, my dear teacher!

Today I visited an experienced English teacher, who used to be mom’s teacher. Both mom and I were eager to get some advice to improve her English. He welcomed us warm and began testing my English knowledge, asking me to read the texts and spelling some words. I did well as I had interested in English since childhoo. He was pleased with my performance but gave me valuable suggest: preview and review.
Then he goes through my English papers, only to find my bad handwriting, which needed being improving badly. Under his guidance, I practiced writing letters, words, sentences and a whole text.
I was surprised at what beautifully I wrote! What the wonder!
