Plastic straws can cause serious environmental problems
Every day, Americans threw away 500 million plastic straws—enough circle the Earth twice. People use them when enjoy a cold drink, but according to an app where maps trash, plastic straws are the six most common form of litter in the world. Plastic straws can't be recycled. And even worst, it takes up to 200 years for each one to break up.
To deal with the problem, a lawmaker introduced a bill in February to reduce the use of plastic straws in California. Soon, a waiter provide plastic straws to customers who don't ask for them will break the law. The punishment will be six months in the prison, a $1, 000 fine or a combine of both.

Some countries are better than others a look after the environment. Germany and some northern European countries work very hardly to improve the environment. The campaign of “Building a Green Campus” had been launched in our school in order to call on us to save resources and raise our awareness of environmentally protection.
Waste on campus can be seen everywhere, where has become an increasingly serious problem. Food is thrown away in the school canteen but plastic bags and chopsticks for single use are dumped everywhere, which will do harms to the environment.
It is for everyone’s responsibility to build a green campus. First of all, we are supposed to continue the campaign of “cleaning the plate”. Instead, we should resist chopsticks for single use and recycle the plastic bags. All these are basic measures protect the environment of our campus.

Exhaust fumes is the main cause of haze and do greatly harm to people’s health. Maybe we can move factories to areas where few people live. In my memory, my hometown was small village, but it was beautiful. When I was young, I was liked swimming in the river. The water was so clean that I could see fishes in them. As I missed my hometown, I go back home last week. Unlucky, I found the place in my memory was not like that it was. The water was dirt and the river was polluted so seriously! I couldn’t believe it. Over the last few years, my family and I had started working towards a greener life. My mum and dad drive less and often take bus to work. They are carefully to save gas when they cook. We recycle things and we give old clothes and furnitures to the people in need.
