It is important to learn how to protect our environment. Here is a 5R rule for us.

Math Week

“Next week is Math Week. I would like each one of you to do a project. It will be shown at the Math Week exhibition. You could do it on your own or in a group. The best project will be awarded and there is also a surprising gift.” Mr. Lee, the math teacher said.

After school, Manu sat in the classroom along with Kevin who was not as good as Manu at math.

Kevin said, “Manu, shall we work on the math project together?”

Du Fu (712—770), one of the greatest poets in China, is well-known among us Chinese people. Known as China’s “saint of poetry (诗圣)”, Du Fu wrote about 1,400 poems that are still with us today.     17    

An English documentary (纪录片) Du Fu: China’s Greatest Poet, introduces the great poet (诗人) to the West. As the first English-language documentary about Du Fu, it compares him to Shakespeare to help Westerners better understand the poet’s great achievements in literature (文学).

In the film, British historian (历史学家) Michael Wood explores the poet’s life. He visited a number of places, such as the poet’s birthplace Gongyi in Henan, and Du Fu Thatched Cottage (杜甫草堂) in Chengdu, where Du lived.     18     What’s more, in the film, Ian MeKellen, a very popular British actor, reads 15 of Du’s poems in English.
