Anger is an emotion that can be hard to control. Despite this, we should learn how to manage anger in a constructive manner. In the most intense moments of anger, we usually have two choices — to fight or to run. Some choose the option of violence, which is a negative reaction to anger; and others choose to run. But the option of walking away and calming down is the more productive method of handling anger. It is difficult to walk away, especially when your heart is racing, and your anger is boiling over.
There are some other constructive ways of handling anger in any situation. First, you have to stop for a brief moment and think before you act. Take that moment and calm down if you feel yourself being pushed.
At that moment you should admit you are angry. If you refuse to admit you are angry or hurt, or if you make it appear that everything is all right, you are not managing angry in a productive way. You should first admit you are angry and let your feelings out before you blow up. For example, you can stay in a quiet place by yourself and shout; or you can talk to close friends to pour out your rage (愤怒). If you do not acknowledge your anger, it only builds up inside you and will eventually explode like a volcano.
Then, in order to manage your angry, you can ask yourself an important question that we all must ask ourselves ― What made me angry? When you get the answer, and then ask yourself ― Why did that made me angry? Through such logical reasoning, one tends to calm down and move towards a sensible solution.

When Kenia Barragan first saw Jose Villa Ochoa, she thought of her own parents. “I felt for him,” she told KTTV News, “My parents are both older, and I would hate to see my dad out selling tamales for somebody and barely making ends meet.”
Known as “Don Joel”, he explained that although he wanted a job, no company would hire him because of his age. In order to keep himself out of debt, he started to sell tamales cooked by a local woman. At the end of each hard day, she would give him a cut of the earnings. This allowed him to buy food, but was not enough for him to afford his medical treatment or a phone.

In an interview, Annika Olsen, former prime minister of the Faroe Islands and current mayor of its capital Torshavn, expressed severe concerns about global warming. “The weather is getting warmer and the temperature of the sea is increasing, which poses a huge challenge to us as a fishery nation,” Olsen said. Faroe Islands fishery export accounts for 98 percent of the total exports, said Olsen, adding that warming of the sea is a challenge to the economy as to the environment. “We are very vulnerable to changes in the climate,” Olsen said, pointing out that “We have more rain and more extreme weather, and the snow is actually gone during wintertime.”
Olsen was one of over 300 mayors from about 70 countries around the world who participated in international conference MUNI EXPO this year, which was held in Tel Aviv. But can a plant be intelligent? Some plant scientists insist they are since they can sense, learn, remember and even react in ways that would be familiar to humans.
Michael Pollan, author of “The Botany of Desire,” says for the longest time, people who have long talked to their plants or played music for them were being considered “mad.”
The new research, he says, is in a field called plant neurobiology(神经生物学), which is not a proper name, because even scientists in the field don’t argue that plants have neurons(神经) or brains.
“They have analogous structures as humans,” Pollan explains. “Plants have all the same senses as humans. They have ways of taking all the sensory data they gather in their everyday lives, integrate it and then behave in an appropriate way in response.” In addition to hearing, taste, for example, they can sense gravity, the presence of water, or even feel that an obstacle(障碍物) is in the way of its roots, before coming into contact with it. Plant roots will change direction, he says, to avoid obstacles.
So what about pain? Do plants feel? Pollan says they do respond to anesthetics (麻醉剂). “You can put a plant out with a human anesthetic. And not only that, plants produce their own compounds that are anesthetic to us.” But scientists are unwilling to go as far as to say they are responding to pain.
How plants sense and react is still somewhat unknown. They don’t have nerve cells like humans, but they do have a system for sending electrical signals and even produce neurotransmitters (神经递质) and other chemicals the human brain uses to send signals.

There were eight Chinese between the ages of 24 and 37 on the Titanic, sharing one 59-pound third-class ticket, but only six survived from its sinking. When they arrived in the United States, they were not helped like the other 705 survivors. Instead they were forced to leave the country within 24 hours because of the Chinese Exclusion Act signed in 1882.
Some westerners questioned the six Chinese survivors as stowaways and claimed that they survived because they secretly climbed on the lifeboat or dressed as women to board lifeboats.
But after visiting foreign documents, museums and cooperating with American and Chinese historians, Jones believes they did not do anything disgraceful in order to survive the disaster. ''This is not only a story about the survivors of Titanic, but also a story of a group of brave Chinese people exploring the outside world at that time, '' he said.
When the ship hit an iceberg, like other third-class passengers the eight Chinese were released from the locked gates at last, but not allowed to board the lifeboat. Luckily, four of them boarded a small broken boat, and one was rescued by another lifeboat. Another one, Fang Lang, floated on a piece of wooden board in the sea. The only returning lifeboat saved him from freezing.
To restore their real stories, Jones and his team found Fang Lang's son in Wisconsin, US. Also, Jones will visit Taishan city in south China's Guangdong province, recorded as the survivors' hometown. The filmmakers also established a website, whoarethesix.com, for more clues.
Ordinarily, people think of Titanic as a story of rich white people, but don't know there were people from all over the world, including Chinese. ''Their stories are never told, '' Jones said.
The documentary The Six is expected to be released in China late this year.

Antibacterial hand sanitizers(免洗洗手液)are marketed as a good alternative(替代品)when soap and water are not available. Manufacturers say that their sanitizers kill 99.9 percent of germs(细菌), but research suggests that this not the case.
How do hand sanitizers work?
Most sanitizers are alcohol-based; they work by removing the outer layer of oil on our skin, then the alcohol kills the bacteria.
However, Barbara Almanza, associate professor at Purdue University, notes that hand sanitizers do not significantly reduce the amount of bacteria, and in some cases, can increase it.
So the question arises, how can manufacturers say sanitizers kill 99.9 percent of bacteria?
How can manufacturers make the 99.9 percent claim(声称)?
Manufacturers test their products on bacteria-tainted surfaces. In this controlled environment, hand sanitizers do kill 99.9 percent of bacteria. However, the human hand is a lot more complex and goes through a lot of different changes in a day compared to a controlled surface.
These tests allow manufactures to obtain consistent results. But , in reality, how effective are hand sanitizers in killing bacteria in everyday life?
Hand sanitizer VS hand soap and water
Almanza says that soap and water are the best way to clean your hands. Hand sanitizer cannot and should not be a direct replacement.
However, they are a useful alternative. To effectively kill bacteria, studies recommend that people use sanitizers that are at least 60 percent alcohol. Also, sanitizers won’t work if you have dirty hands, so wipe them with a tissue or napkin before sanitizing.
What about antibacterial soaps?
Research has shown that regular soap is just as effective as antibacterial soap in reducing bacteria-related illnesses.
In fact, some consumer antibacterial soap may increase some bacteria’s resistance to antibiotics(抗生素), making them more dangerous.
Other studies show that overly clean environments will negatively affect children by preventing their immune(免疫的)system development. Children need to fight off common germs to develop their immune systems.
