Great Activities for Nature Lovers
Hiking
One of the easiest and most accessible ways to get close to nature is by setting out on a good old fashioned hike. Hiking generally doesn’t require any fancy equipment or special skills, just a piece of map and a thirst for adventure. This activity can be as relaxing as you make it.
Backcountry Camping
Why limit yourself to just a day hike when you can have a full weekend (or longer) adventure? Backcountry camping involves packing your tent, sleeping gear, food, and water on your back to set up camp in a remote location. If you’re an experienced hiker and camper, this is an excellent way to test your survival skills and explore the wilderness.
Mountain and Road Biking
Unlike long hikes through the woods, biking allows you to cover more ground and travel farther in nature. Mountain biking typically involves riding up and down steep slopes, between trees, and over rocks. If this sounds too intense or your tires aren’t suited for rugged terrain, consider taking a road bike on paved trails through forest preserves or along country roads.
Gardening
Contrary to popular belief, you don’t have to travel beyond your own backyard to experience the beauty of nature every day. If your personality is less adventurous or your mobility restricted, consider planting a garden to grow your own vegetables, fruits, herbs, or flowers. There’s something truly satisfying about mixing up a salad with fresh ingredients you grew yourself. One of the best parts about spending time in nature is that it doesn’t have to break your budget and anyone can do it.

Riding programs differ from camp to camp. Some will be basic, such as hacking out (骑马溜达) and pony (矮种马) rides, whereas others will be much more advanced, including showjumping and competitions. All instructors will be required to ride at a decent standard and have some knowledge in horse care, but typically the more advanced your skills are, the more advanced program area you can expect to work in.
You can expect to teach all ages and abilities of riders whilst also maintaining the care of the horses, including mucking out (清理马厩), feeding, etc. Most camps will also do stable management lessons for the campers, so that they can truly understand what it takes to look after a horse, and not just learn to ride. Horse Riding Instructors are required to arrive before orientation in order to get the horses ready for the campers’ arrival.
What’s included?
Full onsite training is provided. Free online application
All food and accommodation provided throughout the duration of your contract. Minimum $1,600 salary (not pocket money).

I finally got the running back again after a few years but it was much harder than it used to be and I struggled to get through even the shortest, slowest jog.
I was out in a run the other day and I had almost convinced (说服) myself to give up when I heard someone say, “You can do it! It’s hard, but you can do it!” There was a lady walking the other way and had the biggest smile on her face.
Those words of encouragement at a time when I was ready to give up were like a perfect intervention (干预). I finished my run and now every time I feel like quitting I will hear her words in my head and they give me motivation (动力) and encouragement.
I’ve never seen her again so I’ve never been able to thank her and let her know the effect something as simple as a few words of encouragement from a stranger had and still has on me. It always encourages me in my life and has great influence on my life. I will never forget it and place it in my heart. I will tell it to others and make others believe encouragement is very important to us.

Many things come to mind when I think of a great vacation. Remarkable scenery and delicious food are certainly on my list. Those two features can’t always be found in the same location. However, amazing views and great food are both on the menu at the following three restaurants.
The Rock, ZanzibarOn an enormous boulder (巨石) off the coast of the East African island of Zanzibar sits The Rock. The freshest seafood, much of it straight from the surrounding ocean, is always available here. At low tide (潮汐), customers can walk out to The Rock. As the water rises, though, customers must take a short boat ride to it. Once they arrive, they’re greeted by friendly staff and 360-degree views of beautiful blue-green water. The Rock, sometimes called the “floating restaurant”, is available for weddings and other small group events.
The Labasin Waterfalls Restaurant, PhilippinesStriking waterfalls sometimes have restaurants at the top. But the Labasin Waterfalls, in San Pablo City, Philippines, is different. A restaurant sits at the bottom of the falls. Guests dine on authentic (地道的) Filipino meals at bamboo tables that stand right in the water. They cool their feet in the water that flows under their tables. The surrounding jungle makes a perfect background for this one-of-a-kind dining experience.
The Grotto, ThailandThe Grotto Restaurant on Thailand’s Phra Nang Beach offers delicious food and an incredible dining experience. The restaurant is partly positioned inside a cave and partly on the beach. Guests seated toward the front look out at Happy Island in the lovely Andaman Sea. Those seated at the back enjoy an authentic cave-dining experience. Comfortable tables, which are arranged inside the cave, sit next to large stalactites (钟乳石). International food with a Thai influence is featured.

"I'm sure you do," said her dad.
"No, Dad. You don't understand. I really, really, really want a phone."
"And I really, really, really want a boat. It's not going to happen."
Myrna and her dad were stuck in traffic. To her, it seemed like they were always stuck in traffic. When he took her to school in the morning-traffic. When he picked her up in the afternoon-traffic. Go to the bank, the grocery, a birthday party, and what felt like ten hours of traffic was what they got.
She was bored, because traffic was boring. And when she was bored, she wanted things. Right now, she wanted a phone. She wasn't sure if her dad understood that. She would have to tell him again.
"I WANT A PHONE."
"NO."
"What if I got stuck in a cave?"
"What?" asked her dad, trying not to laugh.
"What if I had a little cat and the cat ran away, and I had to run after it. What if the cat ran into a cave, and I ran after the kitten, and in the cave there was a bear, and the bear trapped me, and-"
"And then you were stuck in the cave."
Myrna nodded the way she did when she won an argument, but her dad wasn't through fighting. "Is this a mother bear? I hear they are the fiercest."
"Yes. It's a mother bear, and she's very upset, and she's going to eat me unless I have a phone to call for help."
"If it's a mother bear, then you can use her phone. Everyone knows that mums always carry
phones."
Dad was laughing as he said this. Myrna didn't think it was very funny. She slammed her hand down on the door of the car as hard as she could, which wasn't very hard. Now she was angry.
"If I had a phone, I could play games on it!"
"If I had a boat, I could eat steaks on it. That doesn't mean I'm getting one."
"No, but I mean..." Myrna spluttered(结巴). When she was very angry, she spluttered. It was embarrassing. "If I could play games, I wouldn't be so bored when we were in traffic. I wouldn't bother you!"
"I don't mind being bothered. I like talking to you."
"Then I won't say anything at all!"
Dad smiled quietly to himself. "I'm going to call Mum to let her know we'll be late." He reached into his pocket. "Oh! My battery's dead."
"You know... if I had a phone, I could call Mum," said Myrna.
"Nice try."
Myrna smiled. She wasn't getting a phone, but she knew she was right, and that was almost as good.
