A job at Apple is unlike any other you've had. You'll be challenged. You'll be inspired. And you'll be proud. Because whatever your job is here, you’ll be part of something big.
Every detail matters.
Every piece of packaging. Every swipe of the finger. Every "How can I help you?” Everything. And it doesn’t matter just some of the time. It matters all of the time. That's how we do things at Apple. The result is some of the best-loved products in the world.
Simplicity isn't simple.
Ask anyone here. It's hard work. It means forever asking, “Why is it this way?” and “How can it be better?” It means rethinking every customer experience until the clutter has fallen away — until all that remains is what's essential, useful and beautiful. That might be a new product feature that delights even die-hard fans. It might be a customer support call, or even a display in an Apple store, arranged and lit exactly so.
Creativity from every comer.
When you imagine the creative process at Apple, at first you may not picture someone in HR. Or operations. Or finance. But we expect creative thinking and solutions from everyone here, no matter what their responsibilities are. Innovation takes many forms, and our people seem to find new ones every day.

He needed surgery, but he doubted whether he could afford it, even with insurance. “There’s nothing more depressing than seeing a bill for 24, 000 dollars and going. How much of this will my insurance cover and how much is mine to cover?” Jensen told WWAY-TV.
Luckily for Jensen, his doctor is Demetrio Aguila. The nerve specialist gives patients the option to pay for surgery through volunteer work. He founded an organization called M25 Program. “We can’t ignore the people in our own backyard,” Aguila told CBS. “We want to be able to offer hope to patients who have lost hope medically.”
Using an algorithm (算法), the clinic calculates community service hours based on the price of the surgery. In Jensen’s case, the $12, 000 operation equaled 560 hours of helping out at one of the local charitable organizations registered with the M25 Program.
Like 10 percent of Aguila’s patients, Jensen chose the community service. And because hundreds of hours of community service can seem difficult, Aguila, 50, not only lets others participate, he encourages it. “I had this hope that we would reawaken in our neighbors and in ourselves a sense of volunteerism,” he told CNN.
Jensen, whose surgery was completed in February 2020, was helped by more than 100 friends and strangers who volunteered at Orphan Grain Train, which donates food, clothing, and medicine nationally and globally.
Dave Harvey, founder of the homeless aid organization Least of My Brethren, is counted as one who is inspired by Aguila. “He is making things easier by sending volunteers our way!” he told KMTV in Omaha. “What a cool thing!”

Summer in the UK is traditionally the time when people go on holidays. It is also the time for outdoor music festivals. Let’s look at some of the most famous ones.
·Glastonbury Festival
The Glastonbury Festival first started in 1970, and is often seen as the standard to judge other festivals by. It takes place on a farm in the south-west of England over 3 days, and visitors camp in the fields around the site.
·Reading Festival
While Glastonbury tries to keep an air of peace and love, the Reading Festival is a noisier, more aggressive weekend. It is much easier to attend as it is in the centre of the city of Reading. Although you can camp, you can also go just for the day. Up to 55,000 people are expected to attend on the weekend of the August Bank Holiday, and top British acts such as Franz Ferdinand and The Kaiser Chiefs will entertain the crowds.
·Creamfields Festival
If you prefer house music to rock, then Creamfields is probably the place for you. Since 1998, this festival of dance music has taken place in Liverpool, also on the final weekend of August, but only for one day, so there is no need to bring your tent. Instead, just enjoy a boogie to top DJs and live acts.
·Knebworth Festival
Knebworth is a huge manor house and the festival takes place in the gardens. It first took place in 1974, and since then acts such as The Rolling Stones, Queen, Elton John and Paul McCartney have all featured.
So, whatever your tastes in music, there is a festival taking place in England to suit you. Just don’t forget to pack your raincoat.

It picked up sand and dirt in the north and brought it to the southern areas of what we now call the state of Louisiana. Thousands of years later, man-made barriers called levees (防洪堤) and flood-control systems control the powerful river. But Louisiana officials are making plans to use the Mississippi River’s ancient power to build new land as a way to ease the threat of rising seas.
Engineers hope to remake the destroyed low-lying lands by copying nature—digging into the levees and redirecting the water. The water holds a lot of small dirt sediments (沉淀物). The sediments can flow into coastal basins.
Some critics question whether the idea presents its own environmental risks. But if it does work, the project would rebuild an important protection against storm waves. It would also help the land provide new living areas for birds and fish that depend on wetlands.
Saltwater is destroying the coast. Pathways cut for oil and gas development, boat travel and logging have worsened the problem. The state estimates that it has lost about 518,000 hectares of land since 1932. If nothing is done, more than twice that much land could disappear over the next 50 years.
Experts and officials have discussed the idea of using the river to rebuild the coast for many years. But it was not until money became available from the 2010 BP oil spill that the plan began to really take shape. In 2010, an explosion killed 11 people on an oil rig (石油钻塔) off the Gulf Coast that energy company BP operated. Millions of gallons of oil then flowed into the water over the next three months.
One year later, the United States government ruled that BP was responsible for the accident,
The company was ordered to pay billions of dollars for the damage. Louisiana is putting much of its share of the money toward coastal restoration.
