Some misunderstanding is putting shark populations at risk now. Thousands of sharks are dying as    1     result of people’s false beliefs.

Female sharks need males to make babies. Some female sharks have the ability     2    (produce) a baby by themselves and have young sharks without a male shark. That’s something commonly     3    (see) in plants and insects like ants and bees.

What’s more, shark fishing kills up to 100 million animals each year, endangering several different species.

You are more than twice as likely to die from a lightning strike as from a shark bite, according     7     the Florida Museum’s International Shark Attack File (ISAF). “Even if you are bitten, the large     8    (major) of people survive”, says Dr. Chapman. In fact, there were sixty-six unprovoked(无端的) shark bite    9    ( incident) around the world in 2018, only six of    10     were dangerous.

One night in December 2016，a bear came into the city of Vancouver in Canada.It     1    (walk) through the city streets past houses，shops and offices.Then it found some food in bins outside a restaurant     2    started eating.In the morning，someone saw the bear and called the police.The police came and put the bear in a car and took     3     to the mountains outside the city.    4    (lucky)，the bear was safe.

Many animals live in cities.In some cities，you can see birds，insects，mice and squirrels every day.But sometimes，it is     9    (danger) when big animals come into cities to find food.We need to find ways of stopping animals     10    (come) into the city without hurting them.

Sarek’s mountains used to be covered by vast sheets of ice. Around 9,000 years ago, this ice melted,     1     (leave) behind about 100 glaciers. Soon after, reindeer began to arrive. Following the reindeer were the Sami people, who made this territory their home. Getting here is quite difficult,     2     apart from the Sami very few people have ever seen Sarek. It would be in the middle of a lake, birds would sit on it, and their droppings would fall into the water. If we learn to share our space, we can become better neighbours to the wildlife around us. If we do not, more species will become extinct and our own future will     3    (endanger).

Whales have been facing serious danger for a long time.

A kilogram of whale meat can fetch about $ 100 in Japan. Besides, advanced technology has increased the efficiency of whaling and gradually reduced the number of whales. The fact     7     whales have become endangered animals is alarming us. Some     8    (organization) have realized the importance of saving them and have begun working hard to do something for them. The international community     9    (make) a strategy against commercial whaling. In my opinion, governments should also make laws     10    (protect) whales.
