Three and a half kilometers of pure mangroves(红树林), makes this the longest pure mangrove kayaking expedition in Singapore. The distance spent inside the mangrove gives you the maximum opportunity to witness wildlife within the mangrove ecosystem. Come experience the challenge of operating your kayak through the labyrinth(迷宫)of waterways and be amazed at the calm and quiet beauty of the wetlands. This last corner of natural wilderness in Singapore is so inaccessible, that very, very few have ever experienced it-which makes this a truly special program.
Most Recent Traveler Reviews
Traveler A: Traveled from bottom to top of Singapore in rush hour traffic in order to get to Ubin for a 9:30 start—only to find no guide there. Although, once he arrived, the guide was lovely—offering a very knowledgeable tour and lots of enthusiasm around a beautiful part of the world—our 6-hour kayaking trip was actually over before 2:30 pm, despite only hitting the water at 12 noon.
Traveler B: The guides were nice, however the biggest disappointment was the timing. We thought we were going for a 4-hour kayak but were back in 2 hours and that included the prekayak safety talk. The mangroves are lovely but we were told that a storm was near. We felt that there had never been any intention of going out for longer.

Earlier this year, the city announced that anyone who enters Venice and doesn’t stay overnight is set to pay a fee ranging from 3 to 10 euros, depending on factors such as advance booking and whether it’s peak season or if the city is very crowded. This rule will come into effect in January 2023.
According to The Associated Press, as mass tourism gained popularity in Venice in the mid-1960s, the number of visitors increased year by year. In 2019, the last year before the COVID-19 pandemic, there were some 19 million day-trippers who visited the city.
As more visitors come to enjoy the charm of the Italian city, lots of Venetian residents have been forced to leave their homes. According to CNN, due to congestion(拥堵) and the increasing costs of delivering food and other goods in carless Venice, around 70 percent of Venetian residents have left the city in the past 70 years.
The government hopes the new rule could help to regulate(调节) tourism in the city and “find a balance between Venetian residents and long-term and short-term visitors”, as noted by AP. The money they collect will be used to clean up waste and maintain the heritage of the city.
Local Marco Malafante, who manages vacation rentals(租赁) in the city, also expressed his support for the move.
But a Venetian gondolier, simply called Cuba, was worried and thought the government moves would “commercialize(使商业化)” the city and disturb the lives of ordinary people.
“Entering Venice will be like entering a museum. I don’t think the measure will help the problem of transforming Venice into a Disneyland, with fake(假的) glass shops and piazza sellers replacing the old artisan(工匠) shops,” Cuba told CNN.

“…
In this crisis I think I may be pardoned if I do not address the House at any length today, and I hope that any of my friends and colleagues or former colleagues who are affected by the political reconstruction will make all allowances for any lack of ceremony with which it has been necessary to act.
I say to the House as I said to Ministers who have joined this government, I have nothing to offer but blood, labor, tears, and sweat. We have before us a big trial of the most terrible kind. We have before us many, many months of struggle and suffering.
You ask, what is our policy? I say it is to wage(作战)war by land, sea and air - war with all our might and with all the strength God has given us, and to wage war against a monstrous tyranny(暴政)never surpassed(超过) in the dark and disappointing catalogue of human crime.
You ask, what is our aim? I can answer in one word. It is victory. Victory at all costs -victory in spite of all terrors - for without victory there is no survival.
Let that be realized. No survival for the British Empire, no survival for all that the British Empire has stood for, no survival for the urge, the impulse of the ages, that mankind shall move forward toward his goal.
I take up my task in optimism and hope. I feel sure that our cause will not be suffered to fail among men. I feel I have the right, at this critical point, at this time, to claim the aid of all and to say, ‘Come then, let us go forward together with our united strength’.”

I'm a virus for the common cold. It has been a long time since I infected humans last time. Today I tried to infect a boy in a primary school all day.
His name is Sam. I waited on his desktop, and when he touched the desk I jumped on his finger. Unluckily, Sam didn't touch his eyes, mouth or nose. Then, right after class, he washed his hands. Now I'm full of soap and sitting in a sink!
Tuesday, January 22nd
This morning I jumped into the nose of Sam's best friend, Bill. Unluckily, the mucus in his nose caught me. I thought it was over for me, when suddenly Bill sneezed while he was talking to Sam.
I knew that would send me right into Sam's face! However, Sam quickly gave Bill a tissue, and Bill sneezed into that instead! Infecting people is harder than I imagined.
Wednesday, January 23rd
I'm feeling very unhappy today. Some scientists caught my friend Harry and put him under a microscope. Harry is a flu virus and he's a dangerous little guy. Besides, Sam ate all his vegetables today. He's exercising, and he's getting eight hours of sleep every night. His body is too strong for me!
Thursday, January 24th
I tried to infect Sam again today, but he washed his hands five times and never touched his face! He also gave tissues to every student in his class who was sneezing. It's impossible to give him a cold! So I have to give up and I'm moving to another school.
