Everyone wants to be healthy. You know food is very important. There are many healthy foods. You can have more bananas, apples, oranges, tomatoes and lettuce(生菜) because fruits and vegetables are good for you. But don’t eat too much chocolate. It’s not healthy food. Healthy food can make you grow and make you strong and happy. Remember there is a saying “An apple a day keeps the doctor away”. Sports can also keep you healthy. Get up early and play sports every day. Don’t be lazy! You will be healthy and happy.

There is a big zoo in our city. It’s about five kilometers away from my house. I like all kinds of animals. I often go to the zoo by bus on Sundays. In the zoo, I can see many different kinds of animals, such as monkeys, bears, pandas, tigers, lions, dolphins, and so on. Some animals are friendly, but some are not. Tigers, lions and bears are dangerous. So they have to stay in cages. But I don’t think it’s good for animals to stay in cages (笼子). They are not happy. They should be free. Tigers and lions can run very fast. They catch and eat small animals in the forest. But in the zoo, they stay in small rooms. They walk round and round in the cages, and they want to get out. I feel sorry for them.

Of all the animals, I like dolphins best. The most interesting animals in the zoo are dolphins. I like watching them swim and jump. They swim very fast and jump very high. They are very clever. They can play with balls. They are very friendly to people.

Peter’s birthday wish

Peter was a 12-year-old boy. He was the only child in his family.

His birthday was coming up soon. He wished he could have a bike. But his family didn’t have much money. His father said they were too(太) poor to buy him a bike. But Peter wasn’t too bad about this. A week later, when Peter was on his way home from school, he saw a boy riding a bike. But the bike was too small for the boy. Suddenly(突然地) the boy fell down(摔倒) and got hurt (受伤). Peter went over to him and asked others to help him to send the boy to the hospital. The boy’s parents arrived at the hospital later and gave Peter some money to thank him for his help. But Peter didn’t take it. Later, the boy’s parents knew that Peter didn’t have a bike. They gave the child’s bike to Peter. They said,“The bike is too(太) small for our child and that is why he fell down ”.

Peter was surprised at first, but he accepted(接受) this gift. His birthday wish finally came true.
