Eight-year-old Ling becomes an online star and she has millions of fans. Now, she is being interviewed on TV about her own cooking by a reporter called Ming.
Ming: Ling, when did you start cooking? Ling: When I was five, I started helping my grandma in the kitchen, for my parents went to work in a big city. I became interested in cooking when I was six. At that time, I could cook porridge, noodles and some simple dishes. One year later, I could make mantou and dumplings and cook many kinds of dishes all by myself. Ming: What’s the best way to get good at cooking? Ling: At first, I learnt to cook from my grandma because I wanted to help her. I also watched some short videos on the phone when my grandma worked in the field. Sometimes, I asked my neighbours and my teachers for help. I think the best way to improve my cooking is trying it again and again. If it is no good, I’ll do it differently next time. Ming: Since you are so good at cooking, are you going to be a cook in the future? Ling: Well, I’ve never thought of it. I just want to study hard to go to college. Then I can learn more about the outer world. Ming: What do your parents think of your cooking? Ling: They’re glad that I am able to help my grandma do housework and take care of myself at the same time. They are very happy and proud of me. Ming: Finally, what’s it like being on TV? Cats and dogs are some of the most popular pets. There is an old question—which one is better and why?
If you ask me, I’m a cat person through and through.
To me, there is nothing better than having a cat of your own. Every time I see a cat, I am filled with so much fun. Don’t even get me started on all of the cute cat videos online.
Cats are very careful in life. When they are in danger, their eyes will be much bigger, their tails will be like a stick and they shout very loudly. After the danger, they will relax and then immediately go to sleep again!
Cats are very independent(独立的). They like to have their own space. But this doesn’t mean that they don’t love people. Cats may seem cold at first, but they can quickly warm up to their owners and become their very best friends.
Even though they are independent, cats can also be a lot of responsibility(责任)and hard work.
For example, cats like to be clean. You usually don’t need to give them baths, but you do need to keep their fir clean and clean their litter boxes(猫砂盆)every day.
Not only this, cats also need exercise and a healthy diet. Cats don’t need to go outside for a daily walk like dogs do, but it’s important to give them a lot of exercise through playtime.
For me, cats are the perfect friends. There’s nothing better than a cat sitting next to you after a long day’s work.
