What should we do if one of our classmates suddenly falls ill or gets hurt? Here are some steps you should follow. But always remember to look for medical care after first aid (急救) if the wound is serious.

Broken bones (骨折): Take away clothing from the wound. Use an ice pack. Don’t move the hurt body part while waiting for the doctor to arrive.

Animal bites (咬伤): Wash the bite area with soap and water. Pack the wound with a clean cloth if it is bleeding. If the bleeding has stopped, cover the area with a bandage and take the person to the hospital. Make sure you remember what kind of animal it is so the doctor can find the right way to treat him or her at once.

Fainting (昏厥): Have him or her lie with feet lifted a little. Don’t move the body if you think there might be wounds from the fall. Make sure he or she can breathe and let in fresh air. Clean the person’s face with a cool cloth.

Nosebleeds: Have the person sit up with his or her head tilted (倾斜) forward a little. Do not have the person tilt his or her head back because this may cause heavy breathing or coughing. Pinch (捏) the lower part of the nose for at least 10 minutes.

Once upon a time, there was a poor fisherman in a village near the sea. He always dreamed of having a lot of money. One day, he heard that two or three ships with diamonds (宝石) and gold sank in the nearby water. Because of this, for a long time he kept searching that area, and hoped to find the diamonds and gold.

One day, while he was sitting on his boat daydreaming, he suddenly felt something heavy pulling on his fishing rod (钓竿). He thought that good luck had finally come to him, and he pulled hard at it. “Wow! A big, shiny gold chain (链子)!” he said happily when he saw the thing. He then began to pull at the gold chain to try to get it all into the boat, but there seemed to be no end to it. The more gold chain he got, the more sea water came into his boat.

However, the fisherman did not realize it. He began to dream of a big house, a big piece of land, buying horses and cows ... He kept pulling in the chain though the boat kept sinking. Finally, the boat went under the sea and the fisherman died.

It is important to sort（分类）your rubbish. If you sort your rubbish, you are helping to protect the environment and save our earth. If you don’t do this, the rubbish will be everywhere and we can’t plant things on it. Some kinds of rubbish will pollute the soil（泥土）and the water. For example, the bad things in phones can run out and pollute the ground. Other rubbish, like some parts of pens, can be used to make other things.

Here are four kinds of rubbish:

Recyclable（可循环的）: Things that can be reused, such as paper, metal（金属）, glass and old clothes.

Wet: It is also called “household waste”. “You don’t want these things but pigs can eat,” Guangzhou Daily said.

Harmful（有害的): such as medicine, batteries（电池）and phones. If you throw them away, they may pollute the soil and water.

Others: It is also called “Dry”. Any waste that doesn’t belong to Wet, Recyclable or Harmful.

Are you a TV lover? Can you imagine living without TV? Well, you could give it a try.

A group of Americans from TV—Turnoff（关掉）Network have an idea. From April 19 to 25, they are asking children all over the world to turn off their TVs for one week. They hope children will find more interesting things to do.     61
