Early one morning, an old woman was carrying a big basket of cabbages (卷心菜) to the market. She hoped to _________ them to the people from town.

Develop(培养) a good attitude (态度) to tests . The purpose(目的) of a test is to show what you have learned about a subject . It helps you know what you are not good at . The world will still go on even if you fail (不及格) in a test , so don’t be too worried .

Long long ago, there was a girl called Nüwa. Her father was Emperor(皇帝) Yan and he loved her very much. They often played together, and she also loved her father very much. One day, she had a wonderful time when she swam in the sea. She was too tired to swim and she was drowned (淹死). Because she wanted to see her father when she changed into(变成) a bird, she put some stones into the sea day after day and changed the sea into the land. She made a wish, and she would like to play with her father again.

Lao She finished writing Teahouse in 1957.The play shows the lives of common people in China between 1898 and 1945.It takes place in a teahouse in old Beijing and it tells us the story of Wang Lifa and his customers.It asks us to see the teahouse as the centre of the neighborhood.Finally，it says goodbye to old Beijing and its people.

The story starts in 1898 during the Qing Dynasty.It continues in 1916，and finally，it brings the audience(观众)to the end of the Anti Japanese War，in 1945.After the war，Wang loses the teahouse and dies.

Lao She was born in Beijing in 1899.His parents sent him to the Normal School in Beijing and he learned to teach.From 1924 to 1929 he taught Chinese to the English in London.He wrote many plays，novels and short stories.He was named “the People's Artist” and “the Great Master of Language”．He was one of the greatest Chinese writers of the 20th century.

In Lao She Teahouse today，waiters bring tea to the customers and sell them delicious Chinese food.If you like the Beijing Opera，folk(民间的)music，acrobatics (杂技)or magic shows，you can enjoy them in the teahouse.Lao She Teahouse gives a wonderful welcome to everyone from China and from all over the world.

Katrina lived with her mother and father in a small white house. All the other houses in the neighborhood looked the same except the house next to Katrina’s. This house needed a lot of fixing (修理). Everyone in the neighborhood thought this house looked bad. No one lived there.

On Saturday morning, a car arrived in front of the house. Katrina saw a man, a woman and a boy get out of the car. They looked at their new home. Then they took things from the car and put them in the house.

On Monday morning, Katrina left for school. In the classroom, she heard her teacher say, “This is David. Please make him feel welcome.” Katrina knew the boy--- he just moved into the house next to hers. Their teacher asked Katrina to show him around the school.

At lunchtime, Katrina showed David the way to the lunchroom. When they ate their lunch, David told Katrina he was excited to live in his new house. Katrina looked surprised(惊讶的) and asked, “Don’t you think it needs a lot of fixing?”

David said his family planned to fix the house because they hoped it would look like all the other houses in the neighborhood. They knew it would take a lot of time and hard work, but they decided to do so. They like their new houses and liked to live in such a nice neighborhood.

Katrina felt she was very lucky. She lived in a nice neighborhood. Listening to David’s story made her feel thankful(感谢的) for life. Sometimes another person helps you understand how much you have.
