文章大意:本文主要介绍了Rick是一个爱生气的小孩,后来在妈妈的建议下,变得不那么生气了。

Rick was a young boy who was angry at everything around him. To calm Rick down, his mom came home with a canvas(画布)and paint. “Whenever you feel bad about something, paint it instead of getting angry.”

Though not that happy, Rick gave it a try. After creating many paintings, he took his artwork to his mom.

“Tell me, Rick. What are these paintings about?”

“The first is about how some kids show off their new clothes. The next is about my teacher who always tells me about how I’m doing things wrong. And the last painting is about how one of my schoolmates said I should change my attitude(态度). They all make me so angry.”

Rick’s mom took Rick by her side and told him, “Don’t you see, Rick? You’re getting so angry but you never try to understand why.” Then she explained carefully, “All the people you were angry at did nothing wrong. The kids were showing off their good clothes but never laughed at you for being poor. Your teacher scolded you but that was because you caused trouble in class. And your schoolmate was only trying to help you correct your mistakes.”

“Next time you get angry, take a deep breath and walk away for a couple of seconds. And when you come back, talk to the person you’re angry at. You might calm down in this way.”

文章大意:本文讲述了一项新的研究发现,每天拍照在网络上分享可以提升幸福感。

Taking a photo every day and then sharing it online improves your happiness. That’s what scientists found after studying a group of people who joined in the photo-a-day projects.

In the projects, a group of volunteers from 20 years old to 60 were chosen by the scientists.     27     Over a two-month period, the scientists recorded the photos taken, texts added to the photos, and how the volunteers felt. After two months, the photographers also gave a phone interview.

What the scientists found was that the act of taking photos and sharing daily photos improves a person’s happiness through self-care.     28

“I have a really busy job. But I said to myself, ‘No, I will stop to relax. I’ll take a photo of the insect(昆虫)sitting on my computer or something.’ Just taking a moment is very helpful,” a volunteer told the scientists.

29     “It encourages me out of the house sometimes when I could just sit on my chair with a cup of tea,” another volunteer said. And on the social side, comments(评论)on the photos keep people connected with their friends and family, and even help some fight loneliness.

Besides, photo-a-day helps volunteers look back on their own life. “    30     You know, the photos I’ve taken will bring back lots of good memories,” said one of the volunteers.

Therefore, the scientists find out that photo-a-day is not just a simple practice. It makes people feel happy.

A.Photos which show school life are needed.
B.They put up a photo every day on the Internet.
C.If I’m feeling down, it’s nice to look back and see good memories.
D.The new camera is lighter and easier to use.
E.It helps the volunteers care more about themselves.
F.Looking at the photos gives the volunteers a sense of purpose.
