During the National Day holiday of 2023, I had an unforgettable trip to Beijing. My family and I watched the flag-raising ceremony(升旗仪式) in Tian’anmen Square(广场).

That was a ________ important moment for us Chinese. It was ________ for us to get up very early because the ceremony started at sunrise(日出). ________ spent three days getting a chance(机会) to watch the ceremony. On the first day, ________ we got up at 5 a.m., we still missed the ceremony. The following day, we got up a little bit ________ in the morning. But when we got to the square, the street was already so ________ that we couldn’t move. At last we could not get closer to the ceremony. The Downtown Plaza is always fun. it’s a shopping area in the oldest part of town. There are some good stores and restaurants there. For example, Andrea’s Boutique is in Downtown Plaza. It’s a fun place to shop, and it has the best quality clothes.

My favorite restaurant in town is Nick’s Cafe. It is near my house. It’s cheap and its hamburgers are great. I like Drago n City Restaurant, too. You can eat wonderful noodles there and the beef noodles are the most delicious! You must try the dumplings, too! But the dumplings are more expensive than Nick’s.

The Suburb Cinema is the best movie theater. It has the biggest screen and the most comfortable seats. The Del Ray Complex is a good place to go to the movies, too. It doesn’t have the newest movies, but the tickets are cheaper.

It is a famous story by an American writer Kate DiCamilo in 2006.

The story is about a journey of a china rabbit (瓷兔子) called Edward. He lives with his ten-year-old owner (主人) named Abilene. Abilene loves him very much but Edward doesn’t love her. During a holiday on a ship, Edward is lost. After spending 297 days in the sea, he reaches a beach and a man takes him home. Then Edward travels from one place to another, meeting many people. His name keeps changing, such as Susie and Maloney. Soon he begins to miss Abilene and wait for her. One day Edward falls into pieces. Someone repairs (修理) it and sells it in the market. Many years later, Abilene and her daughter come to the market and take Edward home. Finally Edward is with his owner again.

There are many pictures in the book, so we can follow Edward’s journey easily.

You can learn that Edward learns love and never stops waiting for Abilene. This is why they meet each other at the end of the story. The warm. and sweet story will make you know more about love.

Every one of us should have at least one or two good friends. Your friends will listen to you when you speak, will look after you when you don’t feel well, and will always be together with you in your life. Everyone needs friends. Friendship (友谊) can make us happier. How can we find a good friend and get on well with each other? Here is some advice.

★Make friends with a person who is easy to get on with.

★You should make friends with a person who has something in common with you.

★Give your friend a hand when he or she has problems. Friends should always help each other.
