Ida Nelson was enjoying in her sister’s sauna (桑拿室) when she heard the sound of a small airplane circling the nearby airport.
It was 11:30 at night in a small village with a population of 70, and she said, “Any time a planeflies over that late, you know something is wrong.” Nelson and her sister ran to the window, and saw the problem—the airport’s runway lights were out.
Nelson put on her clothes, and drove her car to the airport, where she found a local pilot trying to turn on the lights manually. But the lights didn’t work with his hands.
Normally, if you push the button 10 or 15 times, the lights will just light up. Not this time. Meanwhile, she and the pilot learned of the plane’s task: it was a medevac (空中救护) there to send a seriously ill local girl, to the nearest hospital, 280 miles away in another city.
Nelson had a plan. Driving her car to the end of the runway, she shone her headlights for the plane to follow. Great idea, but it wasn’t enough. More light was needed, so she called nearly every home in the village—32 of them.
Within 20 minutes, 20 cars arrived at the airport, many of the drivers still in pajamas (睡衣). Following directions from the medevac pilot, the cars lined up on one side of the runway. The medevac, guided by the headlights, landed safely. The young patient was sent onto the plane, and the plane immediately took off. Her illness was never open to the public, but she has since been recovered.
Without them, the girl might not have made it. However, for Nelson, it was “quite a normal thing.”

Parents are often surprised at their children's ability to use technology. A five-year-old child may easily find and use apps on a smart phone. A ten-year-old child can move up through the levels of a video game easily. Their parents may think their children were born geniuses!
Natural geniuses, however, are not common. But your parents are right if they think you are smarter than them. Most children are born smarter than their parents. This has been proved on IQ tests around the world recently. These tests have shown that over the last 100 years, each new generation has become smarter than the older one. In other words, you are smarter than your parents and your parents are smarter than your grandparents.
This increase in intelligence is called the "Flynn Effect". It was named after James Flynn. Flynn is a university professor in New Zealand. He first noticed this in 1980. According to his research, with each new generation, average IQ scores would increase by twenty percent.
But why are people getting smarter? Flynn and many other researchers believe this has something to do with technology. New technologies have further developed our brains. They have made us think better. So we may be better at completing the missing parts of a puzzle than our parents.
However, being smart doesn't make you wise. Wisdom comes with age and experience. A killer score on a computer game will not help you solve the everyday problems of life. For that, a smart kid will turn to the wisdom of his parents and grandparents.

Trust has been considered as the basis of any relationship, including friendships. No relationship can last long without trust.
Whom do you ask for advice when you need it most? Either your parents or your friends may first come into your mind. You only ask people you really trust for advice. You know they will never pass on a wrong suggestion. And so do they.
Different ideas and discussions are a part of every relationship, and this is also true for friendships. Actually, two people can’t always have the same opinions on a situation and they may share different suggestions. Sometimes some people find it hard to forgive and forget.
