School life is many things for many different people. For you it may be fun, necessary, boring, or maybe even surprising sometimes. You may find it surprising for many reasons, and one of these reasons is being bullied (霸凌). According to a recent report, 1 in 5 young people, between the ages of 12 and 20, had been bullied in the UK. Bullying is a problem in many places. School-aged children are most likely to be bullied. Being bullied can make your school life difficult as someone or a group of people are actively trying to hurt you. Being bullied can be difficult to deal with and it is important that you know how to deal with it.
If you are being bullied, it’s very important to tell your parents first. Many children often believe they are the only ones this is happening to, and no one else cares about them. Actually it’s not true! Tell your parents the entire story. They are here to help and want to know what is going on with you. They may then be able to get in touch with the staff at the school in order to try to stop the bullying.
Inform teachers, principals, and other school helpers. These people have the power to help stop bullying. Sometimes bullies stop as soon as a teacher finds out. If you’re being bullied, teachers can provide protection by letting you stay in the classroom. It’s important to let your school know about any bullying incidents because there may be other kids being bullied by the same person.
Don’t be afraid to speak up. Bullying is not a small matter. It helps if everyone who is bullied speaks up. Getting help is the right thing to do when dealing with bullying.
Don’t use hit, kick, or push as a way to deal with someone bullying you or your friends. Fighting back satisfies bullies because it shows them that they can get to you. Fighting back can also be dangerous. If you fight with bullies, someone could get hurt and you could get in trouble. It’s best to stay with others, stay safe, and ask the nearest adult for help.

Christina wanted to lead the way back to camp and went on talking cheerfully, asking different kinds of questions about plants and wildlife.
As we walked about halfway down the hillside, she fell over a stone. I jogged up to where she tripped. Suddenly, I saw a lion about ten feet up on a huge rock watching me. It was making a long deep angry sound.
I stood perfectly still, holding my breath, wondering what to do. Christina was crying down below. I couldn’t shout to her to be quiet, or the lion might attack (攻击) me.
Then, remembering Dad’s words, I slowly dropped my backpack and took off my T-shirt. With the pack on one arm and the T-shirt on the other, I spread my arms, trying to look as wide and big as I could. Carefully I moved away down the hillside toward Christina, keeping my eyes on the lion. It stayed there, not moving.
“Christina,” I called. “Stop crying. Get up slowly and catch my belt. We’re going down the hill. There’s a lion at the top.”
We moved quietly and slowly down the hill. Once back to the forest, with the lion out of view, I removed the sweat (汗水) from my face with my T-shirt before putting it on, and looked at Christina. Hatless, red eyes, a few small cuts but nothing major.
I pulled out the map. The campground was on the other side of the hill. We had hiked for miles before we finally made our way back to our site.
Dad saw me first.
“Where have you been?” he shouted.
“We were so worried,” Mother cried.
“Mommy, you didn’t have to worry. Sean is real smart.” Christina said.
I caught Dad’s eye. He smiled. At that moment I realized I was a big brother.

Water is important for all living things on Earth. The water cycle is a natural process that takes water from the ground and the sky and brings it back to the earth again. It is a cycle that happens the whole year and is most active from March to May in China. In this article, we will explore the water cycle and discuss its importance for Earth.
The water cycle always begins with water vapour (蒸汽). When it’s hot outside, you can see clouds forming in the sky. These clouds are made of water vapour that comes from the ground, plants and rivers. As water vapour rises into the sky, it cools down and becomes clouds. After that, clouds travel through the sky and fall back to Earth as rain or snow. Then, water runs through rivers and oceans and finally returns to the earth again in different forms like rainwater or snow.
The water cycle plays an important role in protecting our Earth’s climate. It provides us with water to drink and keeps our climate healthy. On top of that, it takes water from rivers and oceans and brings it to the areas that don’t have enough water. Without the cycle, we would face many problems. When there is too much water in one place, it becomes a flood. When water is badly in need, it becomes a drought (旱灾). Besides, water vapour can take heat from the sun and keep our planet cool.
The water cycle is a natural process that keeps our planet alive. It’s important for plants and animals to drink water and for our rivers to stay flowing with water. Understanding the water cycle can help us enjoy the beauty of nature, know how our planet works and develop better methods to protect our Earth. And that is a responsibility (责任) we should take on.
32. Which season might have the most active water cycle in China?A.Spring. | B.Summer. | C.Autumn. | D.Winter. |
