During the Warring States Period (战国时期), there lived a man called Zou Ji. One day he put on beautiful clothes and a hat, and looked at himself. He asked his wife, “Between me and Mr. Xu, who is more handsome? ”
His wife said, “Of course, you are far more handsome!” Zou Ji could not believe what he heard, as Mr. Xu was widely known in this country for his handsome looks.
He then asked a concubine (妾), “What do you think? “His concubine said, “How can Mr. Xu be compared with you, sir? ”
Two days later, a guest came to visit, and Zou Ji asked him the same question. The guest also said, “Mr. Xu is not as handsome as you.”
A few days later, Zou Ji met Mr. Xu and compared himself with Mr. Xu secretly. Then he found Mr. Xu was better. But why did all the other people think he was more handsome?
From doubt to being sure, Zou Ji realized his wife preferred him, his concubine feared him and his guest needed his help. So with this thought, Zou Ji bravely went to meet the King of Qi and shared this with him. To his surprise, the King of Qi then added a new requirement: those who could speak to him about his mistakes face to face would receive a top prize; those who could write a letter of offering him some advice would receive a middle prize; those who openly criticized (批评) him would receive a small prize as well. Chopsticks are a pair of sticks to be used when eating. They were first used in China. Chopsticks have been made from many materials (材料). Bamboo is the most popular. There is lots of it in Asia and it is easy to break and heat. Other materials included wood and bone (骨头). Chopsticks made of silver were common among the rich. The kings used such chopsticks, as it was believed that they would turn black if the food could make people die at once.
In fact, before the invention of chopsticks, Chinese used hands to eat, but how did they eat soup? They had to use sticks. Chinese people started to use chopsticks during the Shang Dynasty (朝). During the pre-Qin period, chopsticks were called “Jia”, and in the Qin and Han dynasties, they were called “Zhu”. By the Ming Dynasty, people began to call them “Kuai”. So we call Chinese chopsticks “Kuai Zi” today.
We are not sure who invented chopsticks, but there are many folk stories about them. One is that Jiang Ziya was pushed to create chopsticks by a special bird that didn’t want him to have the meat. Another one is that Daji, the favorite woman of the King Zhou of Shang, invented chopsticks in order to make the king happy. It is also said that Dayu used sticks to pick up hot food in order to save time to control floods (洪水), so chopsticks formed.

“Zero calories (卡路里) and getting no weight.” We often talk about sugar-free drinks like this. But are they really a good choice?
Some people think sugar-free drinks are healthier because they don’t have sugar or calories. They think having these drinks can help them lose weight.
In fact, sugar-free drinks have some sugar, although very little. Usually, if there is 0.5 grams (克) of sugar or less in a 100-gram drink, it can be described as a sugar-free drink. Although they have little sugar, sugar-free drinks still taste sweet because they use artificial sweeteners (人工甜味剂). But they have very few calories.
When we eat sweet-tasting things like sugar, they hit our brain and make us want more. Our brain tells our body to prepare itself for more sugar. When we drink a sugar-free drink, the brain receives the “sweet message”, but no sugar arrives. Since the brain is fooled, it still wants more sweets.
Some people drink sugar-free drinks instead of water. This is not a good choice. Sugar-free drinks can be bad for our teeth and influence our appetite (食欲).
根据短文内容回答问题。66. What do some people think having sugar-free drinks can help them do?
67. Are sugar-free drinks really “zero calories”?
68. Do sugar-free drinks have sugar?
69. What happens to the brain when we drink sugar-free drinks? (不超过10个词)

Every year from May to August on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (青藏高原), Tibetan antelopes (藏羚羊) go far to have their babies.
Their trip is hard. They have to cross railways and roads. Some die because of accidents (事故). To make their trip easier, people have made “wildlife corridors (走廊)”. A wildlife corridor can be natural or man-made. If railways or roads get in the animals’ way, they can still move freely and safely through the corridor.
To work with animals’ habits, corridors around the world are different. Tibetan antelopes are careful about dangers around them. So, China has made corridors under highways or railways. The corridors are big. Antelopes can easily look around when they pass through. In Europe, there are small and dark tunnels (隧道) for small animals, like mice. In the US, people make bridges between trees for animals that like climbing.
Just give them a little more space. They can have a good chance to live well with us humans. So you can see, it is not hard to do that.
