How do you go to school? Do you take a bus or ride a bike? For many students, it is easy to get to school. But for some children in one small village in Hunan, it is very difficult. There is no road between the village and the school. The children have to climb down ladders(梯子) to get to school.

Yu Xinxin is an 8-year-old girl. She climbs the ladders every day. "My parents are good at it and they tell me how to do it, and now I don't think about too much about how high it is," she says.

It is hard for the villagers to get in and out of the village, too. Their dream is to have a road.

I am Dave. Some of my classmates are talking in the classroom.

Jill: My grandparents live on a farm. I went there with my sister. We stayed for seven days. The weather was usually sunny, so most of the time I played outside with my sister. On the farm, I milked cows, fed chickens and rode horses. I had a lot of fun. I think my trip was great.

Mark: I went to Shanghai with my parents. I wanted to visit some museums, but my parents wanted to go shopping. I didn’t like going shopping. So I stayed in the hotel and watched TV all day. It was really a boring trip.

Anna: I think the best place for a holiday is the beach (海滩). I went to Sanya with my brother last year. The sand there was white, and it looked very beautiful. We built (建造) a big house with it. We swam and enjoyed the sunshine. We ate many kinds of seafood. They were delicious. The trip was great. I hope I can visit there again one day.

I am having a good time in Beijing. I am in a restaurant now. The restaurant is big and there are 30 tables in it. I order(点)a bowl of noodles, some tofu and some vegetables. The dumplings here look good, and I want to order some next time. As for drinks, I order some tea. The meal will cost me 50 yuan.

The food here is very good. The noodles and the tofu are delicious, and the vegetables are great, but the tea isn't very good. The people in the restaurant use chopsticks(筷子)to have meals. I can't use them and I am learning how to use them. It is very interesting. I think it will take me a long time to finish the meal.
