The first short video was filmed by her grandson Liu Haochen in early October, and received 1.76 million likes and over 60,000 comments (评论) on Tik Tok within a month. Now known as vlogger “Grandma of Chenchen” with 200,000 fans, she has tried on many different costurnes. Liu, also a lover of hanfu, said he wanted to share happy memories with his grandma and to record her life at old age. And he found she was quite suitable for the clothing.

People should avoid making and eating foods with fermented (发酵的) rice and flour (面粉的), the National Health Commission said.

During a 12-member family party in Jixi city, northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province on the morning of Oct 5, nine older family members ate suantangzi, a noodle made from fermented com flour. Three young people present refused to try the food because of its strange taste, according to the local government.

The nine who ate the noodles fell ill several hours later and eight were dead on Oct 11, while the only person alive —— a 47-year-old woman was taken to the hospital and she died at noon on Oct 19, according to her son.

The bongkrekic acid (米酵菌酸) was found in the noodles as well as the stomachs of those who became ill, the health commission said on Oct 12.

Bongkrekic acid is a main cause of poisoning (中毒) from fermented flour, rice products and spoiled fungus (变质的木耳), experts said.

Eating food with bongkrekic acid can result in poisoning for both humans and animals and even lead to death, with death rates (率) as high as 40 to 100 percent.

Using fresh food and often changing water when making food can be safer. It is best to avoid making and ingesting foods made of fermented grain entirely for safety concerns, according to the commission.
