What should we do if one of our classmates suddenly falls ill or gets hurt? Here are some steps you should follow. But always remember to look for medical care after first aid(急救)if the wound is serious.
Broken bones:Take away clothing from the wound. Use an ice pack. Don’t move the hurt body part while waiting for the doctor to arrive.
Animal bites:Wash the bite area with soap and water. Pack the wound with a clean cloth if it is bleeding(流血). If the bleeding has stopped, cover the area with a bandage(绷带)and take the person to the hospital. Make sure you remember what kind of animal it is, so the doctor can find the right way to treat him or her at once.
Fainting(昏厥):Have him or her lie with feet lifted a little. Don’t move the body if you think there might be wounds from the fall. Make sure he or she can breathe and let in fresh air. Clean the person’s face with a cool cloth.
Nosebleeds:Have the person sit up with his or her head tilted(倾斜)forward a little. Do not have the person tilt his or her head back because this may cause heavy breathing or coughing. Pinch(捏)the lower part of the nose for at least 10 minutes.

When he got to the bathroom, he found his mother lying in the bathtub (浴缸) with blood coming from her head. She had an epileptic fit (癫痛发作) and didn’t know anything. However, little Steve kept a cool head.
He first went to his 2 month-old sister and put her in a blanket (毛毯), placing her on the sofa. He then climbed up a chair to open the door. Once the door opened, Steve picked her up from the sofa and went to his neighbor’s house. The neighbor, Jessica, was very surprised to see her two young neighbors standing outside her door at such a strange hour.
She first thought the little boy was coming to talk about his dog. But he said, “No, my mom died in the shower. Can you take care of us? Jessica ran to next door in a hurry and found Katelyn in the shower with the water still running. She called 911 and help arrived just in time.
Ms. Taylor believed that her son saved her life. If not her son, she probably would have died right there in her bathtub. Steve was praised by the local fire department. They showed up at his house with their fire truck to present him with some special prizes.

No one likes the mosquito. But the mosquito may decide that she loves you. She? Yes, she. It’s true that male (雄性) mosquito doesn’t bite and only the female (雌性) mosquito bites (咬) because she needs blood to lay (孵)eggs. She is always looking for things or people she wants to bite. Shop around. A “sale” price isn't always the “best” price. Some sellers may offer a sale price on an item (商品) for a short time; others may discount (打折扣) the price on the same item every day. Having an item's producer, model number, and other information can help you get the best price for the item you want.
Read a deal carefully. Some may say “no rain checks” or “not available at all stores”. Before you step out the door, call ahead to make sure the seller has the item now. If you're shopping for a popular or hardtofind item, ask the seller if he can hold the item until you can get to the store.
Take time and travel costs into consideration. If an item is on sale, but it's far away from you, How much are you really saving once you consider your time, your transportation, and parking?
Go online. Check out websites that compare prices for items offered online. Some sites also may compare prices offered at stores in your area. If you decide to buy online, keep shipping costs and delivery (投送) time in mind.
Mind special offers. For example, “buy one, get one free,” or “a free gift with purchase (买)” may sound good. If you don't really want or need the item, it's not a deal.
1. Why do you need to shop around if you go shopping?A.Because a sale price is the best price. |
B.Because sellers always offer a good price. |
C.Because sellers cut down the prices every day. |
D.Because it can help get the best price for the item you want. |
A.You must really save a lot. |
B.You might waste your time and money. |
C.You'll always get the most for your money. |
D.You needn't pay for your parking there. |
A.The best deal | B.The best price | C.Shopping tips | D.Shopping ways |

The story of Chinese fashion began in 2011 when Feiyue and Huili, both Chinese sports shoe brands(品牌), suddenly got international attention. Their products were seen all over the world. Chinese sportswear(运动装)brand Li Ning was at the New York Fashion Week in September, 2018. They showed their new designs — sweaters and jackets with Chinese characters.
Shaun Rein, managing director of China Market Research Group, said that the latest Chinese brands no longer catch customers’ eyes by low price. He told CNN, “They are sure that they can go head to head with foreign brands.”
Maybe it is because China’s young people are now more confident about their own culture. They don’t show immediate interest in western culture any more.
“Today’s young people in China are crazy about Chinese cultural elements(元素).” Jin Qu, the manager of a clothing shopping website, said at a cultural festival in 2018. They like these elements printed on their clothes, even the brand picture of Laoganma in China, which was once seen as outside of fashion. But now young people are proud of these Chinese symbols.
“In fact, many stars in the West are now interested in Chinese cultural elements in fashion. Rihanna, a US singer, for example, wore a Chinese red dress to the 2015 Met Gala in New York. The dress was designed and made by Chinese designer Guo Pei.
“We have to move from making to creating.” Chinese-American designer Aric Chen once told The New York Times. “We want to replace(代替)the words ‘Made in China’ with ‘Designed in China’.”

But for the students in my class, it is a special wall. Take a good look at it, and you will get to know the real feelings and thoughts of us, the 9th graders.
In the middle of the wall, there is a big “VICTORY” written in pencil. I guess it must have been written by someone who got a good grade in an exam.
A little higher, there is a poem(诗). It only has two sentences. It reads:
All those sweet memories have gone.
Like tears dropping in the heavy rain.
Oh! It must have been written at the end of the last semester(学期)in middle school. Classmates had to leave school and good friends had to part. What a sad poem!
If you “study” the wall more carefully, you will find many other interesting things, like a crying face or a happy face, and other pictures. There are still some pictures and letters that I can’t understand. But they all show the feelings of the students who drew them.
For years, this wall has experienced all the things that have happened in the classroom. I don't know how it will be next year, two years from now or even ten years from now. But I hope more smiling faces will be drawn on it!
