The World Tourism Organization says that space will soon become a popular place to go on holiday-possibly by 2020. One Japanese company is planning a space holiday centre. It will look like a bicycle wheel and have a very modern hotel for 100 people and a park. It will travel round the Earth at a height of 300km. The company hopes the centre will be ready in 2017. The company manager says he thinks that flying to the centre will probably be quicker than flying from Hong Kong to Singapore. After they arrive at the centre, tourists can take trips to the moon or go for walks in space. What about the cost? Well, the company believes that people will be happy to pay about $100,000f or a trip. But they think that as more people want to go, the trip will become much cheaper.
An American company is also thinking of building a very modern hotel, called the Lunar Hotel, on the moon. Most of the hotel will be under the ground, so it won't become too hot or too cold. The rooms will look just like they do on Earth. The guests will eat normal food for lunch. The cooks will just push a button (按钮) to mix dried food with water to become a meal! There will be little or no dirt (尘土) and there won't be much water. So the hotel won't wash the towels and sheets (床单)-they will be thrown away.

People may think that houseboats are simple, but we have everything—two bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen. There’s even a “garden” on the roof of the boat. We grow many vegetables up there.
Our houseboat is usually in the center of London. It’s a cool place to keep the boat—we’re near some famous museums and a good library, and the view is amazing.
The only problem is the ________. When it’s windy, the boat goes up and down! Also, the boat needs painting every year. In fact, my dad and his friend are painting it now.
When visitors come here, they walk into our living room first. It’s a bright room as the sun can shine in through the window. You can find a big TV, a sofa, two beautiful paintings and many other things in it.
The kitchen is my favorite room. My mom is making dinner there now. We’re going to eat in our “garden”, on the roof!

I believed that I was right and he was wrong, and Tony believed that I was wrong and he was right. Our teacher, a kind and smart lady, decided to teach us a lesson. She brought us to the front of the class and placed him on one side of her desk and me on the other. In the middle of her desk was a large and round object. I could clearly see that it was black. The teacher asked us what color the object was. “White,” Tony answered. I couldn’t believe he said the object was white! “Clearly, it was black!” Another argument started between Tony and me, this time about the color of the object.
The teacher told me to go and stand where Tony was standing and told him to go and stand where I was standing. We changed places, and now she asked me what color the object was. I had to answer, “White.” It was an object with two differently colored sides—from his side it was white, while from my side it was black. “Boys, now, what do you say?” The teacher smiled at us. Tony has been my best friend ever since.
My teacher taught me a very important lesson that day: When you disagree with others, you’d better be in their shoes. That will help you look at the situation through their eyes, and truly understand their ideas and ways of thinking.

When I walked through the door, I felt like I had entered a whole new world. The first thing that caught my eye was a big gumball (口香糖球) machine. However, you could not get any gumballs from it. Instead, you could become a gumball yourself by climbing inside it! Many kids were playing inside. Some of them were happily throwing gumballs at each other. Some of them pretended (假装) to be scared of being trapped (困住) inside and let their parents take photos.
If you like taking pictures, you would not be able to put down your camera here. A pink swing (秋千) and a huge birthday cake were just a few of the amazing things I saw. I really liked playing inside the cake. You could jump out of it and throw sprinkles (糖粒) everywhere. I wished it had been a real cake!
The best part of the exhibition was the ball pit (球池). I had never thought about playing in a ball pit as a teenager, although I often did so in my childhood. But there I was, diving in and kicking balls around.
All in all, it was a “delicious” experience. I loved it!

Battersea Dogs and Cats Home is calling on people to give a cat a home for the most heartbreaking reason. Monique is a two-year-old cat who has lived at Battersea for over three months and is patiently waiting for her forever home. The animal shelter (收容所) posted a picture of Monique at her birthday party, but what broke everyone’s hearts was that nobody attended.
They wrote the following information on the post: “Monique is looking for a home after nobody turned up to her birthday party. She has FIV, a slow acting virus (病毒), which cannot be passed to humans and has been with us for 115 days.” Beside the photo, Battersea also said something about Monique’s daily life. “Monique loves spending time with her human friends and enjoys running around people when they play with her favourite toy. You will see how happy she is when touching her head and chin.”
On their website, Battersea explains that although many cats with the virus continue to live a happy long life, there are some precautions (预防措施) the new owners should know. The site says they will only give these FIV cats to homes with protected gardens, meaning that these cats will be the only cat in the family. They will ask the future owners to speak with a Battersea vet (兽医) to learn how to protect the cats as well as how to build the garden. “We really hope Monique can have a nice home and play with her new friends as happily as she can.”
