I woke up this morning, not feeling very well. My head hurt, and my eyes felt like glue. There was green stuff(东西) in my nose.   I was sure I was getting sick.

My mom came in to wake me up, "Time to get out of bed, Sweet Pea," She leaned(倾斜) across the bed and whispered softly in my ear.

I nodded. I tried to smile, but my mouth was not working.

"Are you okay?" my mom asked.

I gave her those sad eyes. I was feeling cold and a terrible sore throat(嗓子疼). My mouth opened, but nothing came out. I lost my voice!

"Sweet Pea, what is the matter with you? You do not look good. I think something is very wrong. "

I shook my head. Grabbing(抓) a pencil, I wrote her a note. This is what it said.

Mom,

I think I am sick. I've got a terrible headache, my eyes hurt and my tongue(舌头) is broken.

Can you get me a new tongue at the store?

Mom laughed. She sat on my bed. She laughed again.

"What is so funny?" I wrote.

"I guess it is time to go to see the doctor. It looks like the cat has got your tongue! " she said.

We both smiled.
