Long long ago, a very foolish thief wanted to steal the bell on his neighbor’s door, so he walked up to the door, held the bell and pulled hard. The bell made a very loud noise. The thief was afraid and went home.
“I must do something about the noise,” he thought. At last he had an idea. “Ah, I’ll put some cotton in my ears. Then I won't be able to hear the noise.” The next day he went to the door of his neighbor’s and held the bell again. This time he pulled even harder. The bell rang loudly, but the thief did not hear anything. With another hard pull he got the bell out. Just then the neighbor ran out, “Steal my bell? He spent all his free time in one of his four glasshouses and grew flowers of every color, with long and difficult names, for competitions. He tried to grow a rose of a new color to win the silver cup(银杯)for the Rose of the Year.

The sage said nothing and poured the water into the vase nearby. The man realized it, "I know, water is like a vase." The sage shook his head and poured the water into the pot filled with sand. Making Me Coffee
This needed them to count (数) out 8 spoons of coffee beans (豆) into a coffee grinder (研磨机), then grind them for 20 seconds (they had to count slowly to 20). Next, they should pour the coffee grinds into the basket, count out 8 cups of water and pour it into the machine. As you can see, there was a math exercise behind.
Cleaning the Dishes
Cleaning the dishes needed three steps in our house. I let one of my children brush the dishes, the other one wash the dishes with water carefully. And I would dry and put away the dishes. Through the cleaning, they could learn how to work together. In order to make the chore interesting, I even wrote a song called Keep the Washing Going! Sadly, when she was 14, her father died and she was never able to volunteer with him. Renee's story doesn't end there, however, which is why I think of her as a true hero. Cruises (海上航游) are becoming more and more popular among tourists. Around 20 million passengers now enjoy having holidays on cruise ships every year. More people consider travelling by cruise ships as the perfect way to have a good rest and relax themselves. But have you ever thought about the influence on the environment because of this trend (趋势)?
According to The Guardian, cruise ships cause lots of pollution both on the sea and on land. The biggest cruise ship can carry 6, 000 passengers. Moving such a large ship requires huge engines which burn as much as 300, 000 liters of fuel a day. It is reported that a cruise ship causes as much pollution as 1 million cars or 0.7 million buses going over the same distance. Sometimes, they even travel on the sea by burning dirty fuel that isn't allowed on land. People who care about the environment become very worried and think that with the development of cruise industry, more pollution will be produced on the sea. However, no government controlled the air pollution. Cruises also produce huge amounts of rubbish which usually cannot be recycled. Waste water from showers and toilets is usually poured into the sea. Waste food from restaurants isn't put into the sea. But it still causes problems when it is brought back to land.
Cruise ships also cause problems in the cities where they stop. Every day, some popular places can receive five or six ships which are full of thousands of tourists. Is it good for the business in local cities? Not really. Restaurant owners say that the visitors just walk around for a few hours and then return to their ships to eat. What’s more, the crowds make the streets too busy, which annoys local people very much.
Luckily, some cities have taken actions to solve these problems. They start to control the number of cruise ships that will stop at the port (港口). A few cities even don't allow cruise ships to enter.

First, I visited National Palace Museum in Taiwan. It was built in 1962. It was completed in 1965. In this museum, you can find lots of exhibitions. It is said that the museum keeps about 600,000 artworks. The workers of the museum said they changed exhibitions every three month. Yinke was the second place I visited. The town is like 19th century European houses and has a lot of small streets as in old England. It was a great experience to visit Keelung. The Keelung coasts are very famous for their wonderful scenes. There is also a seafood market. You can buy fresh products there. I then arrived at Danshui. The most interesting place of Danshui is the Lovers bridge. The bridge connects one side of the river with the other side. It is about 40 meters long. However, only one person can cross it at a time.

When Chinese people talk about the mouse, they are likely it as greedy and dishonest. It mainly comes from a Chinese folk story about the cat and the mouse.
One day, the mouse and the cat made an appointment to attend a competition held by the Jade Emperor. It would decide the zodiac animals. However, the mouse did not wake the cat up and at last won by riding on the ox’s back. So the mouse ranked first on the 12 Chinese zodiac signs, and because of that, people think the mouse betrayed his friend.
Probably not! Human culture is funny. There are always different ways to look at the same thing.
In another folk story, people treated the mouse as a great hero. It's said that the mouse created the world by taking a bite of heaven, bringing light to humans. It helped people survive by stealing firewood and grain seeds(种子). As a result, many people respect the mouse by offering food and praying for success.
Since mice live together in societies and have many babies with a high survival rate, the also represent cooperation(合作)and reproduction. With all these qualities, it's believed that people born in the Year of the Mouse are smart and good at making money.

Little stream ran down from a high mountain through many villages and forests. Then it reached a desert. “I went through so many difficulties. I should have no problem crossing the desert,” she thought. As she started, she found herself slowly disappearing into the sand. After many tries, she still failed. “Maybe I can’t reach the ocean,’’ she said sadly to herself.
At this time, a deep voice said, “If a breeze(微风)can cross the desert, so can a river.” It was the voice of the desert. But the little stream answered, ‘‘That’s because a breeze can fly, but I cannot.”
“That’s because you can’t give up what you are. Let yourself evaporate(蒸发)into the breeze, and it can take you across,” said the desert. “Give up what I am now? No! No!” The little stream could not accept this idea. “The breeze can carry the vapor(蒸汽)across the desert and let it leave as rain. The rain will form a river again,” said the desert. “And whether you’re a river or vapor, your nature never changes.” Hearing this, the little stream went into the open arms of the breeze.
