There is a “tree hole”, and you can share your secrets with it without feeling uneasy. Let’s have a look at what we have received.
Student A
We all know that campus bullies (恶霸) are bad guys. But I am ashamed (羞愧的) to say that I used to be one of them. I often bullied others on campus (校园) when I was young. For example, when I saw a student holding something I liked, I would snatch (一把抓住) it without saying a word. I realize my faults and really want to say sorry to them.
Student B
I remember when I was a child, I dreamed of becoming a scientist. However, as time went by, I discovered that the dream was childish (幼稚的) because it would be too difficult. Besides, I’m not talented enough and I have to work very hard. So I want to tell the “tree hole” that I only want to be a common person now and live with love in a very happy life.
Student C
I want to admit (承认) to the “tree hole” that I’m a solitary person who dislikes to open heart to care about or talk to anyone because I find that there are not many people understanding me. It seems that the whole world is against my ideas and behaviors. I know that people around me are sometimes friendly. However, I just cannot. The more I spend time alone, the quieter I become. I don’t want to pretend to get on well with others.
So, what would you like to say to the “tree hole”?

One day the headmaster called me into his office. “Martha,” he said, “as you know, the jacket has always been free. But this year the school board (委员会) decided to charge fifteen dollars.”
He cleared his throat (嗓子) and then continued, “If you are unable to pay, it will be given to the next one in line.”
I looked at him in shock. Trying very hard not to cry, I said, “I’ll speak to my father about it.”
My father was a farmer and had eight children to feed. I wasn’t sure if he would pay the money.
At home, I told my father about the scholarship jacket. He said, “If you pay for it, Martha, it’s not a scholarship jacket, is it? I will not pay the money.”
I locked myself in the bathroom for a long time. I was angry with my dad even though he was right; and I was angry with the school board.
The next day, I told the headmaster what my dad said. The headmaster walked over to the window, looking at something outside. I walked towards the door.
“Martha, wait. Okay. We’ll make an exception (例外) for you. I’ll tell the school board, and you’ll get your jacket.”
I could hardly believe it. “Oh, thank you, sir!” my voice trembled (颤抖) with excitement.
That day on the way home, I cried, but that was because I was so happy. I couldn’t wait to tell my father about it.

【推荐3】My little brother, John sat in the living room, a pen in one hand and my father’s book in the other. I could see that he was scribbling in the book with the pen. When my father walked into the room, my brother was afraid. Now he and I both waited for our father’s punishment(惩罚).
My father picked up his book and looked at it carefully. My father was a teacher. For him, books were very valuable(宝贵的). He took the pen from my brother’s hand, and then wrote in the book himself: John’s work, 1969, age 2. I’m very thankful to you for scribbling in my book. You made the book valuable.
“Wow,” I thought, “Is this punishment?”
The years and the books came and went. We always knew our parents loved us. Sometimes we would open the book, look at the scribbles and read my father’s love. My father taught us about what is really important in life: people, not things.
Now I am a father, too. Unlike my father, I don’t wait for my daughters to take books from my bookshelf and scribble in them. I take one down and give it to my children to scribble. When I look at their artwork, I think about my father and the lessons he taught me.
