Everyone has worries. How do you deal with your worries? There is always something you can do to help yourself feel less worried. Sitting there worrying is no fun and it won’t solve your problems. Grades at school are often a top worry for kids. If you worry most about grades, ask yourself these questions:
● Why are grades important? What do grades mean to me?
● How do I get ready for class? Do I go over my notes even when there isn’t a test?
● Do I have a good learning environment?
● Have I tried different ways of studying?
If your worry is about a fight with your friend, you might write down all the things you could do— write a note to him or her, invite him or her to watch a basketball game, say sorry to him or her and so on. Once you have a list of things to do, you could choose one thing that may get your friend back. You can ask for help when you’re worried. You can find someone to talk to, such as your parents, friends and teachers.

I am a person who loves reading in English. For me, it is easy to get lost in a book and return to the real world a couple of hours later. You may wonder it is hard for you, but how did I do it successfully?
At first, reading is a process in which you need your enthusiasm( 热情) no matter how old you are. As a 6-year-old child, I could read Harry Potter in English. Now, as a student, it is harder for me to find the time to read books for pleasure. However, I look forward to reading my favorite books. Growing up,I found spelling was not difficult for me and I had a wide vocabulary. This is something I benefited from reading at such a young age.
My second method is to read the books that you have often read in English. Reading fictions is especially a great way of improving your vocabulary as you are wrapped up(全神贯注) in the story line. It is easy to follow the story in English even if you don't understand some sentences.
The last important point is that it is not necessary to understand absolutely every word. If you understand the meaning of the sentence, each word is not necessarily important. Sometimes it is impossible to translate directly from one language to another. If a word is used several times in a text, you can get your own meaning from it and it makes much more sense than you try to look it up and translate it in the first place.
If you like reading as you like delicious food, the matter will be easier and you will open up a whole world of literature you never knew!

All kinds of materials can be recycled. Some of the most common things in use today include recycling plastic (塑料), glass, metals and paper. Things made of these materials include plastic milk boxes, newspapers, computers and cardboard boxes.
▲ These include: Landfills (垃圾填埋)—Recycling materials means less rubbish and saves space in landfills. Resources—When we use materials again, this means we can take fewer resources from the earth. Pollution—in general, recycling materials can produce less pollution, helping to keep our environment clean.
Be sure to recycle everything you can in your house and school. There is almost a “recycle” rubbish bin around. Be sure to drop your used plastic bottles there. At home, be sure to put paper things like the newspapers, paper boxes, and homework pages into the recycle box.
Plastics are usually marked with an identification code(识别码)that shows a recycling symbol and a number from 1 to 7. This shows that the type of chemicals, or materials, is used in making the plastic. Used paper can be recycled around seven times.
It is high time we set up a recycle station in every street, across the city and the country, so the cleaners can transport the rubbish conveniently. This is the only way out for dealing with rubbish without causing danger to the environment and our health. For ourselves, our children and our children’s children, let’s take action NOW!

Careless mistakes can make you feel worse than big mistakes, simply because they seem so easily preventable(可避免的). It's important to remember that everyone makes mistakes from time to time, and that's okay. However, if you're making lots of careless mistakes, there are a few simple ways to get yourself back on track.
Realize that making mistakes is normal. So you made a mistake? Don't worry. We are humans and we all make mistakes sometimes. Avoid putting yourself down when you make mistakes. Recent psychology studies show that there are two common ways that the brain responds(反应)after you've made a mistake—one says "Pay attention!" It is like a wake-up call where you think "What happened and why?" The second way is more like the brain shuts down, notices the inactive feedback(反馈)you give yourself as a threat, and then avoids thinking about it completely. People in the first way were more likely to learn from their mistakes and change their behavior. People in the second way were more likely to repeat the same types of mistakes over and over again.
Find out what made that careless mistake. Ask yourself why you might have made a certain type of mistake. Were you in a hurry? Were you stressed out and thinking about something else? Write down how you could have avoided making it in the first place. Example: allowed more time to do this, started this earlier, and stayed more focused on what you were doing, etc.
Stick to a regular sleeping and eating routine. It's amazing how fast lack of sleep can make people forgetful and cause them to feel stressed, which easily leads to careless mistakes. Try to go to bed and wake up around the same time each day, and eat regular, healthy meals around the same time each day.
Tell yourself you will do better next time. Don't let a mistake wear you down. There's no need to be a perfectionist. Don't make excuses, or beat yourself up. Everyone makes mistakes. It's how you handle mistakes that is important. Simply think about how you can solve the problem and move on.
1. The writer mentions the recent psychology studies in Paragraph 2 to show that __________.A.both the two ways are used to avoid making careless mistakes |
