We stayed in a castle in Dublin for two days, where my ancestors(祖先) came from. The town we thought we might be bored in was Kilkenny, but we loved every minute we were there. There were so many places to explore and the pictures we took were beautiful.
It was so exciting to see the little village of Cobh and know it was the last stop for the Titanic(a famous ship) at that time. We loved the visitor centre there and the little shops. We never got any bad food there. It was so mouth-watering at every stop! And when we stayed in Westmeath, we saw the Trim Castle through the windows and found some scenes from Brave Heart which was filmed there. We were so excited. Again, more beautiful pictures were taken in that tiny town.
We love the country, the people, the food and the magic. We would go back very soon. I was so thankful for my uncle who had given me the chance to be there.
I have no words to adequately describe our trip. Go, explore the small villages, eat and enjoy! I still look at my pictures and can’t believe I was actually there.

Kid hacks were horse-drawn vehicles. It had two long bench seats (长椅) with little space in the middle for people to pass. Kid hacks were open on the sides, so kids might get wet on rainy days!
By the mid-1920s, more cars were on the roads, but buses still looked different from place to place. That changed in 1939, when transportation officials (官员) from around the country met to come up with a set of standards for school buses. They wanted to make buses safer. Besides, if all school buses looked alike, it would be easier for factories to build them quickly.
The school bus’s color was one of the standards people discussed at the meeting. After trying 50 kinds of colors on the wall, they settled on the orange-yellow. And that’s still what you see on buses today. National School Bus Glossy Yellow, as the color is officially called, has advantages. The color was chosen because studies had shown yellow was the most eye-catching to people and because it could be seen clearly in the morning and evening.
And now the yellow bus is about to go green. The American School Bus Council says that over 25 million school children ride more than 480,000 school buses each day. Fewer than 1,200 of those buses were electric in 2020, but that number could rise to 10,000 by 2026.
So the next time you get on a school bus, you can feel good knowing that your ride is much safer and drier than it would have been 100 years ago!

But how should driverless cars deal with emergencies (紧急情况)? People disagree on the answer. And that might put the brakes (刹车)on this technology, a new study concludes.
To understand the challenge, imagine a car that suddenly meets some walkers in the road. Even with braking, it’s too late to avoid a crash. So the car’s artificial intelligence (人工智能)must decide whether to swerve (急转弯). To save the walkers, should the car swerve off the road or swerve into busy traffic? What if such choices would likely kill the car’s passengers?
Researchers used online surveys to study people’s attitudes about such situations with driverless cars. People mostly agreed that driverless cars should be designed to protect the most people. But there is a problem. Those same surveyed people also want to protect passengers at all costs—even if the walkers would now end up dying.
“Driverless cars can completely change transportation”, says Iyad Rahwan. But, he adds, this new technology creates a moral problem that could slow its acceptance.
Makers of driverless cars are in a hard situation, Bonnefbn’s group warns. Most buyers would want their cars to be designed to protect themselves first. However, rules might one day instruct that cars must act for the greater good. That would mean saving the most people. But the scientists think rules like this could drive away buyers.
The expert Kurt Gray thinks that even if all driverless cars are designed to protect their passengers in emergencies, traffic accidents will decrease. Those cars might be dangerous to walkers on rare occasions. But they won’t speed, won’t drive drunk while driving, which would be a win for society.

Everyone talks about the weather, but no one can do anything about it. It is true. People usually begin their talks with “Isn’t it a nice day?” “Do you think it will rain?” “What a fine day!” Many people think they can tell what the weather is going to be like. But they hardly agree with each other. One man says, “Do you see how cloudy it is in the east? It’s going to rain tomorrow.” Another man will say, “No, it’s going to be fine tomorrow.”
People often look for the weather they want. When a farmer needs water, he looks for something to tell him it’s going to rain. He won’t believe anything else. When friends have a journey, they are sure the weather is going to clear up very quickly.
Almost everyone listens to what the weatherman says, but it doesn’t always tell us what we want, and sometimes he makes a mistake. Still he probably comes closer to being right than anyone else.

The day before, for some silly reason, I had a fight with another boy. My head was still sore. We hadn’t talked since the fight, but only stared coldly at each other.
Still, I was in a good mood in the morning because I knew my mom was bringing some of her homemade pizzas as a treat for my brother, me, and our friends. Soon, I saw her walking towards our room. She had been bringing these pizzas to us every 4-H camp for years. I saw her smile as my brother and his friends all picked up the big pieces. She saved the last two pieces for me. I thanked her with a smile and started to eat when I saw that boy standing off to the side by himself. At that moment, something moved my heart. I walked over to him and gave him one of the pieces. We talked, laughed and ate. And for some reason that I didn’t understand at the time, the pizza tasted better than ever before.
I can see now that what moved my heart: A little miracle (奇迹) was working inside me. It was moving me to forgive (原谅), to give, and to love. And I’m so happy that I followed that guidance.
