What’s going to happen in the future? Will robots control our planet?     1     Not likely. But here are some things that scientists say are most likely to happen in 10 to 30 years from now, according to the BBC.

Digital money

We need to pay with cash for everything we bought. Now when we use a credit card to shop online, money is spent without us seeing it.    2     Using a card is much easier than searching our pockets for change. It is also safer than carrying a lot of cash.

Bionic (仿生的) eye

3     People who are blind may have a chance to get their sight back — by wearing bionic eyes.

A blind eye can no longer sense light, but a bionic eye can use a camera to “see” the environment and send data to the mind.     4     A high resolution (高清的) image could be just a few years away.

    5

Unlike a human driver, a self-driving car won’t get distracted (分神) by a phone call, the radio or something outside the window. Sensors (探测器) and cameras on the car would allow it to stick strictly to the rules of the road and keep a safe distance from other cars. This would greatly reduce the number of road accidents. You could even take a nap while the car drives itself. In the future, driverless cars would be widely accepted.

A.That means we are already using digital money.
B.Will computers become smarter than us?
C.Self-driving cars
D.Now the bionic eye only allows patients to see lights and unclear shapes.
E.It’s no longer something only in a science fiction movie.

I just installed(安装)the ThingsToDo app on my phone. It’s so easy to use, and it is really useful when you’ve got lots of things to do and not much time! You just create a list and then add items(项目)to it. Once a week it sends you a list of everything you’ve done.

Have you heard about SkyWatch? It’s great. You just point your phone at the night sky and it tells you what the stars are. You can also type in the name of a planet and the programme tells you where to look for it.

I’ve just installed Tunespotter. If you hear a song you like but you don’t know what it is, you can use this app. It tells you the name of the song and the singer. And if you like it, you can buy the song really easily. I’ve had it for a week and I’ve been using it a lot.

I’ve been using Crazy Faces a lot recently. It’s very silly, but it’s fun. You just take photos of your friends and then you can change their faces. You can make them look older or younger, fatter or thinner, and you can add beards(胡须)and glasses. I’ve seen lots of photos where people have put baby faces on adult bodies and they make me laugh every time!

In a country where 1. 3 billion people speak 22 officially-recognized languages and hundreds of dialects (方言), communication online can be a problem.

Although there is a rapid rise in the number of Indian internet users who don’t speak English as the first language, 60% won’t shop online because of language problems.

Niki, a voice-enabled e-business app, is trying to solve this. It helps people to use voice commands (指令) to do shopping online. Users speak to the app in their preferred language, ordering products. Niki then presents buying choices from its product providers.

The company’s goal market is people who don’t live in cities and do not speak English In the northern Indian state of Rajasthan, the app has been used for more than 10 million online transactions (交易) since 2018. Now Niki can offer people service in Hindi, Bengali, Tamil and English. The company is planning to introduce seven more languages, and hopes to carry out its business in 10 more states.

Thanks to a machine learning algorithm (算法), Niki is able to understand languages better and better. When the app first appeared, the algorithm only had a 65% accuracy (准确) rate. Now, it can deal with voice commands with 95% accuracy because of a bank of over 250 million conversations, Jaiswal says.

The app differs from typical online marketplaces. It limits the number of buying choices. Rather than offering many similar products as the supermarkets do, Niki presents a few quality - controlled objects from providers. That is more like a la sore.

When users speak to Niki in their native language, the app speaks back in the way of neighborhood shopkeeper. This “culture of service” is popular with many Indian people.
