【推荐1】Last September, I had the chance to come to China for the first time and visited Yunnan Province.

On the first day, we went to a village named Xiaopingzhai.I was amazed to discover that a small tea factory could bring in 6 million yuan a year with only 20 workers.

The next stop of our trip was the village of Kangmian. Many families now live there after leaving uninhabitable（不适合居住的）areas. The Dew village has 450 housing units. There I have learned that the government helps the people by providing jobs so that they can support themselves. Of the 1, 331 villagers, 609 now have jobs.

In Shuiduichong, a traditional Yao ethnic（瑶族）group village, we visited the workshops for making silver ornaments（饰品）. We discovered that the skill had a history of more than 200 years. Besides the traditional use of silver ornaments in Yao culture, these objects have a high value.

A set of silver ornaments can be sold for between 10,000 and 20,000 yuan on the market. The making of silver ornaments creates jobs in the village. Shuiduichong Dow has more than 20 family workshops.

This trip was over. I have realized that through the hard work of the Chinese government great changes have taken place in Yunnan I think these impressive results should serve as an example for other developing countries.

How’s it going? I’m in Beijing now, at Beijing International School. I’m in Class 2 with twelve other students. They’re from different countries.

I’m living with a Chinese family. They are very friendly. They like to eat dumplings, noodles and rice. Now I'm very interested in cooking. Yesterday they taught me to make noodles with tomato soup—their favorite food. Now, let me tell you how to make them.

First, cut up some green onions and two tomatoes. Turn on the gas cooker and heat about three teaspoons of oil in a pan. Put in the green onions, then the tomatoes, mix well with the oil and cook for about five minutes. Next pour two bowls of water into the pan and cook for about eight minutes. Then crack two eggs into a bowl, beat it up and pour it slowly into the pan. After one or two minutes, add one teaspoon of salt. Now the soup is OK. Finally, pour the soup over the noodles. The beef is inside a kind of cake hamburger. These cake hamburgers are delicious. They are also popular in England and Australia.

【推荐3】This week I tried two new restaurants- Michelle's and Anton's. They are both French restaurants downtown. Michelle's is a small place with about twenty tables. The waiters and   waitresses are very friendly, and I had a chocolate cake and coffee. The chicken was delicious, but the cake was too dry. The meal cost about twenty dollars.

Anton's is a much bigger restaurant, and it was very crowded on that night. I waited twenty minutes for a table. Anton's is noisier than Michelle's and the waiter was very slow with my meal. I ordered soup and a steak with fried potatoes and vegetables. The soup wasn't very hot. The steak was OK, but the vegetables weren't very good. For dessert, I had ice cream. The meal was really expensive-about forty-five dollars.
