Gottfried Junior’s grandpa has to stay in hospital because he is very sick. Grandpa hates being in hospital. He wants to go back to his old home. But no one will let him out of the hospital. He gets angry easily. Because of that, even Gottfried’s dad is tired of visiting the hospital. Others think he is a “difficult” man.

Gottfried sees all this. He has a kind heart and wants to make his grandpa happy. The boy tells his parents that he must stay out for one night because of a training camp. However, he goes to the hospital and helps Grandpa get back to the old house where he lived with Grandma before she died.
