Would you like to help people in need? On March 31, 2022, there was an accident (事故) in Guangzhou, Guangdong.

It was all about saving the person first,” a man said. The bus was over 10,000 kg. But thanks to the helpers, the biker got free very soon. People took him to the hospital quickly.

The news says a Swedish company called Corvid Cleaning is training wild crows to pick up cigarette butts(烟蒂)from the streets of Södertälje, a city not far from Stockholm.

Trash is bad for the environment in many ways. For example, animals (both on land and in the ocean) often mistake trash for food and eat it. Sometimes they even die because of that. Cigarettes are one of the most dangerous forms of trash.

According to Christian Günther-Hanssen, the founder of the company, with crows’ help, they don’t need to spend so much on the cigarette butts cleanup. “Crows are known to be one of the smartest animals in the world. They’re easier to teach. At the same time, there’s a lower risk of them eating any trash by mistake,” Christian said.

The crows for the cleaning job are still living in the wild, and they are free to stop the project at any time. If they keep coming back to Corvid Cleaning’s machine with dirty cigarettes, they must be enjoying the food there.

On Feb 24, Su Yiming was very happy! The 18-year-old snowboarder got a special letter, from President Xi Jinping.
